Theme: #12: Magic

No Such Thing

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter.

Summary: Harry and that magic he does.

Author's Note: It was either the Thief Lord or this… I decided I needed Harry Potter to do this one because, duh, Harry Potter and magic changed a generation of children. So here I am, a book nerd even before Harry Potter, writing a rather angsty story about, what else? Magic.

Harry knew there was something wrong with him when he was running from Dudley and ended up on the school kitchen's rooftop. "It must have been magic or something," Harry said when the fire department got him down, his uncle glaring down at him menacingly, his mustache bristling.

He had gotten a sound beating for saying that, magic. There was no such thing.

His aunt had made him go without food for days when his hair grew back before school. She couldn't explain it, and when he suggested 'magic', she had hit him over the head and told him to go to the cupboard.

But when he talked to the python, he was convinced he was going insane.

But he believed his Uncle.

There was no such thing as magic.
