Danny woke up one morning to the sound of his alarm clock blaring.

"Agh..." he groaned, eyes still shut. He reached out with one arm and began fumbling about his sidetable for the alarm clock. Finding the offending object, he slammed the "snooze" button. He pulled his blanket over his head and turned to the other side of the bed, settling down into a more comfortable position. "Do I hafta get up?" he mumbled to himself.

He had finally finished fighting Skulker only two hours ago, and he definitely hadn't gotten enough sleep beforehand. Not to mention it was Monday, and a lack of sleep ment a bad start to the school week. In a vain attempt to go back to sleep and keep himself from having to go to school, Danny shut his eyes.

He had just begun to doze off again when the door to his room flew open. "Danny! Get out of bed right now!"

He had no trouble doing that. At his sister's words, he yelped and tumbled out of his bed, landing backfirst onto the floor. "Ouch!" Danny cried, sitting up. He rubbed the back of his head. "OK, OK, I'm up."

Jazz rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "And don't get back in bed after I leave. You've done it before and I don't need you doing it again. Remember that time you had to serve detention because you were late?"

Danny stood up. "Uhn...That's happened plenty of times before, Jazz," he mumbled tiredly. "Besides, Skulker kept me up all night and I only got to bed two hours ago. Can't you tell Mom I'm sick?"

"I can't lie to Mom, Danny," Jazz said. "She'd automatically know it wasn't true."

Danny groaned and shuffled along the floor to his closet. "I'm going to the closet..." he grumbled, eyes half closed.

Jazz finally left the room, leaving a half-awake Danny behind.
