Clockwork gave Danny a parchment saying 'Watch out for Harry Potter'.

Watch out for Harry Potter? Why? Is he dangerous? Is he someone he should eliminate?

After his initial flurry of questions he usually asked whenever he got Clockwork's hints- not that he had ever get any straight answers- Danny sighed and contemplated the situation.

Clockwork doesn't usually interfere with current events over and over, but Danny had seen his guardian fretted over the same timeline. Something nasty is going to happen in this timeline that would affect all realms of death. Nothing the Time Master can do to change it without serious repercussions. What he got from the discussions with the Observants was that if he changed the past, this present won't happen and it would prevent the hopeful future, if he didn't change the past, this present will drag problems for dead people.

Ghosts, spirits, undead, whatever- generally don't care what was happening in the Living Realm. Unfortunately, it was- apparently- and international violation of nature (not law- there's no law in the Death Realm excluding certain areas) for mortals to be immortal.

Certainly, other universes houses immortal creatures, but they were humans that had knowingly or unknowingly made contracts with inhabitants from the Death Realm.

An inhabitant of the Living Realm, which only consist of the human species- using obscure methods such as making a contract with demons and angels that succeeded in prolonging his life and be a poor imitation of true immortals- no, nothing important.

A human using obscure methods that succeeded in preventing his death forever and ever by reasons the Head Authority of the Veil- no, it must be prevented no matter the cost. Letting it be inevitable will ruin the basic law of nature, the only written law since the death of the first human.

Living Realm and Death Realm.

No explanation. No reasons. No details. Just five words that were carved on the very center of the universe, the Time Tower's main tapestry. Five words that had unknown origins but has been too widely accepted to even consider a revision- that basically forbid any mix in the prevention of the cycle of Living and Death.

That was all that they told him before he was given a parchment and flung into the time projector he was standing in front of at the time.

So why keep his guard up around Harry Potter? His mission was to prevent that violation from ever happening- it has never happened and it will never happen- so why should he watch out for a student? Is he the human that might violate that law? A perfectly normal outcast of a student?

He felt like slapping himself. He was exactly the epitome of that description a millennia ago. And he warranted a near execution just because of potential disaster of a future.
