RWBY: Extermination
Prologue
A/N: Well, people. Welcome to the prologue of RWBY: Extermination. As you can see, this will be an Aliens and RWBY crossover, but I might bring in Predator elements later on. Sorry if the summary is bad, I lost space to write it in. I should probably say why it's rated M. The story will be rated M for violence, blood and gore, and explicit language and gestures.
As I have said before, I will dedicate my RWBY stories to Monty Oum's creation, the world of RWBY, but I would also like to dedicate this story to H.R. Giger, a man for if he wasn't born, we would never have recieved the Alien franchise. Now, onto the story!
Disclaimer: I don't own RWBY or the Alien franchise. Rooster Teeth owns RWBY and Twentieth Century Fox owns the Alien franchise.
Chris Alder was born on Earth in 2161, to parents who worked for the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. Normally, people would be disciplined if they had kids, but since Chris's parents were about to work at the newly formed Vinita colony on LV-525, the company let it slide. After his birth, Chris's family moved to the colony.
The Vinita colony was a terraforming one, like the Hadley's Hope colony on LV-426, but the planets had entirely different climates. While LV-426 was a big hunk of rock, LV-525 was a jungle-like planet, which had indigenous life, but these life-forms didn't breath oxygen.
In fact, Weyland-Yutani had a company of Colonial Marines come in and clear out a section of the planet so they could build up the colony and the Atmosphere Processing Plant, to make the air breathable.
Chris and his family had lived a normal life, along with the other colonists, until 2166. Unknown to the colonists, Weyland-Yutani scientists sent to study the plant life of LV-525 had discovered a pyramid a few kilometers away from the colony and the APP.
Inside the pyramid, the scientists discovered a mysterious alien life form, along with hundreds of eggs-like objects, in a room resembling a cage. After taking some of the eggs to their HQ located next to the pyramid, the scientists discovered parasite-like aliens came from the inside of the eggs.
After bringing in some people from off world, the scientists discovered that the parasite-like aliens attached to the peoples faces, then after falling off, a new alien that looked similar to the alien in the pyramid burst out of the chest of the human "hosts".
After continuing their research, the aliens eventually grew too abundant and overcame the scientists and their security detail. All of the security was killed in the battle, while most of the scientists were taken inside the pyramid and became new "hosts" for more aliens.
The colonists had no idea these events had occurred, and eventually the aliens attacked the colony. Chris was only five when the attack occurred. His parents, who had previously worked for the Colonial Marines, managed to rally the surviving colonists into a defense of the colony for a few weeks.
But, they had lost contact with Weyland-Yutani after the initial attack and had no way to ask for evacuation from the colony. Eventually, the defense let up and the aliens broke in.
Somehow, Chris's parents managed to escape the slaughter and made it to the escape ships located on the colony. These were similar to escape ships found on starships, like the USCSS Nostromo, but were smaller and designed for only one to two people.
Chris's parents had put him in the ship, but were forced to send him away alone as the aliens attacked them. Chris had watched in horror as the aliens brutally killed his parents. As he was fleeing the colony, the APP had exploded, which destroyed the colony and pyramid, even though the aliens didn't damage the place.
After activating the distress beacon on the escape ship, Chris floated through space for three days until a detachment of Colonial Marines aboard the USS Centauri discovered the distress signal and rescued him.
Since Chris had slight malnutrition for being without food for a few days, the Marines brought him back to health. At first, none of the Marines could figure out why a kid was floating out in space.
That is, until Chris, to the best of his ability, explained what he had known about what had happened on LV-525. Coincidentally, the Marines' mission was to investigate the colony located on LV-525 because of the radio silence between it and Weyland-Yutani.
Now knowing what had happened, the Colonial Marines started their return to Earth. Since they were weeks out, the Marines went into hyper-sleep, as did Chris. It was one of his first experiences with hyper-sleep.
Once they arrived back at Earth, Chris was taken to an orphanage, since he had no parents anymore. But, almost after a day there, he was adopted. The person who adopted him was one of the Marines on the USS Centauri, a woman named Jessica Halberry.
After hearing what had happened to Chris, she felt sympathy for him, since she had an experience like his. What happened to her was that her parents were killed in a car wreck and, since there was no immediate family, she was sent to an orphanage.
After that, Chris's life became drastically better. Jessica was like his old mom in every way, except Jessica wasn't his real mom. But, it was still his family, and he loved every second of it. Even when Jessica had to leave for a mission with her fellow Colonial Marines.
And he continued to live like that, until Jessica was KIA during a mission in 2177. Even though Chris was heart broken at what happened, he promised to live up to her, and his parents, and become a Colonial Marine. So, when he hit the recruitment age of 17, he signed up.
The main reason he signed up was to live up to his parents and Jessica, but another reason was his love for technology. This love was ignited when he was still living in the Vinita colony because of all the cool stuff involved with terraforming.
And then this love was extended when the Colonial Marines rescued him and he got to see all their gadgets. And now, he got to work with those gadgets! Devices that track motion, guns that lock onto targets, helmets with built-in infrared! The Colonial Marines had everything!
Then, after six weeks of boot camp, he officially became a Colonial Marine. He wanted to be part of Jessica's detachment, but he was assigned to 2nd Battalion's Bravo Team.
He was the F.N.G. of the team and was subjected to attempted embarrassment from his teammates, mainly Pvt. Hudson. But, he quickly gained respect from them when he quickly rose from being a Private to being a Sergeant First Class.
After a few missions, he and Bravo Team were sent to LV-426 to investigate the sudden lose of contact with the colony there. Along with the team was Carter Burke, a representative from Weyland-Yutani, the company who owned the colony, and Ellen Ripley, an advisor for the mission.
Chris and the others didn't understand why Ellen was coming along. Until Chris read Ripley's report about her previous engagement with something from LV-426.
In 2122, way before Chris was born, Ripley and her crewmates aboard the USCSS Nostromo were sent to LV-426 on orders from Weyland-Yutani to receive something from the Derelict Spacecraft on the planet.
When they landed, a few of Ripley's crewmembers went into the ship to find what they were looking for. But, when they came out, one of the crewmates had something attached to his face. Ripley refused to let them onboard, due to quarantine procedures, but her crewmate Ash let them on.
Ripley and the others tried to get the thing off of the crewmates', Kane, face, but couldn't. But, eventually, it just fell off and died. Right when the crew was about go back into hyper-sleep, an alien creature burst out of Kane's chest.
Then, the alien proceeded to kill off the remaining crew until the last one was Ripley, who proceeded to set the Nostromo to self-destruct. Ripley managed to escape on the Nostromo's escape ship before it blew up. But, the alien followed.
Ripley managed to blow the alien out of the escape ship's airlock and finally end that nightmare. She then went into hyper-sleep and drifted through space for 57 years before finally being found by a deep space salvage team.
After reading Ripley's description of the alien creature, Chris thought of the same aliens that destroyed the colony on LV-525, his old home. When he figured that out, he thought 'If these things destroyed Ripley's life too, then that makes me want to destroy them even more.'
Once Chris and his teammates arrived at LV-426, via the USS Sulaco, they all began to prepare to drop onto the planet on one of the dropships in the Sulaco. Chris's fellow Marines were going to drop with standard equipment, but Chris was going to drop a little upgraded.
At first, Chris's main eye color was green. But, after going through Colonial Marine boot camp and learning more about technology, he learned about tech that could alter genes. Granted, it was only in it's early stages, but Chris looked up info about it and managed to create a gene-altering liquid during his off time.
Chris had created the liquid to only affect the eyes, so it would give him better eyesight, the ability to magnify what he was seeing and, hopefully, allow him to see different modes of sight, like ultra-violet. Chris injected the liquid into his blood stream and he got the results he wanted.
He had better eyesight and could magnify his sight, but he didn't receive much modes of sight. He only received night vision. But, those changes came with a side effect. The liquid had changed his eye color from green to red. Even if people thought that was a weird eye color, Chris thought it was awesome.
Chris also had a device that acted like a TACPAD on his left wrist. He already had this device for a few months, but it only provided helpful information. The information it provided was Chris' vitals, a map of the current area, when downloaded, and it could show his teammates vitals.
Chris was also going to try out a new piece of technology he developed during the last break he had. It was a motion tracker, but instead of a device you had to hold, it was a device that could attach to any of the Colonial Marine weapons magnetically.
He only had one, since he just created that piece of technology, but the LV-426 mission was meant to be a test run. After the Marines loaded up the dropship and got their gear, they piled into the APC and dropped to the colony.
During their drop, the Marines found out that their new Lieutenant, Gorman, was inexperienced and this was his second combat drop, garnering even more disrespect from the Marines towards Gorman. Once they dropped, the Marines exited the APC and searched the colony.
Chris was under the command of Corporal Hicks in second squad and searched the second floor of the colony complex. After finding nothing inside, Gorman announced the area secure and he sent first squad to Operations and second squad to meet him at the South Lock.
Once inside, Gorman, along with second squad, Ripley, Burke, and Bishop, the Sulaco's resident android, investigated the Med Lab and found specimens of alien creatures that Chris dubbed "Facehuggers", since these specimens looked like the one from Ripley's report.
Only two were still alive and papers showed the colonists extracted the creatures before embryo implantation, killing the potential host. Then, one of the members of second squad found movement on his motion tracker and the Marines went to investigate.
What they found was a little girl, who ran away from the Marines, but Ripley gave chase and eventually grabbed her. After that, the Marines went off to Operations to join the others.
After Gorman failed to get any information from the girl, Ripley managed to befriend the girl and found out her name was Newt. Bishop was busy studying the dead Facehuggers and Hudson was busy trying to find the colonists via their PDTs.
Eventually, Hudson found the PDTs, which were located in the Atmosphere Processing Plant, and Gorman ordered the Marines to go get the colonists. When the Marines arrived, the team went into the APP to find the colonists.
Gorman sent them to Sub-Level 3, since the PDTs were located there, and the Marines found a strange hive-like structure throughout the whole level. While searching, Gorman ordered the Marines to sling their guns and use flamethrowers.
The Marines showed clear disdain towards this, but they followed orders. But, secretly Pvt. Vasquez provided extra batteries for her and Pvt. Drakes Smartguns, making them armed. And Chris put another clip into his pulse rifle, as he always carried spare clips, because he felt shit was going to hit the fan.
Eventually, the Marines found the colonists, but they weren't alive. They were cocooned to the walls of the Hive and their chests were bursted open, like Kane from Ripley's report.
The Marines eventually found one living colonist, but their rescue attempt was in vain as a alien bursted out of the colonists' chest. The Marines killed the alien with the flamers, but they were in for the fight for their lives.
The screams of the dying alien, which Chris dubbed a "Chest burster", rattled the Hive and it's inhabitants started to close in. Hudson's motion tracker was reading movement all around them and whoever was causing it were closing in. Chris's motion tracker was reading the same thing, so Hudson was right.
None of the Marines could see anything, and when they switched to infrared, they still couldn't see anything. Then, one of the Marines suggested that they don't show up on infrared, and a inhabitant of the Hive attacked her.
In the ensuing fight, she accidentally attacked a fellow Marine with her flamer, which caused him to fall over the edge of a platform and caused the Marines ammo to catch fire. The alien took the Marine who was attacked and the explosion from the ammo killed another and injured one.
After that, an alien came and took the Marine who was injured. Then, Vasquez and Drake started to fire at the attacking aliens. Gorman tried to get the team's sergeant to cover his men, but he was taken too.
So, Hicks took command and ordered the surviving Marines to retreat. Chris covered Hicks and a injured Hudson while Vasquez and Drake held the rear. Unbeknownst to them, the Marines were cut off, but Ripley drove the APC to where the Marines were.
As the surviving Marines piled on, Drake covered them, but was killed when an aliens acidic blood covered him. With all survivor on the APC, Ripley pulled out. During the drive out of the APP, Gorman was knocked unconscious from unsecure crates. Eventually, the survivors escaped the APP.
After discussing what to do next, Hicks, who was the new commander due to Gorman being knocked out and the sarge's death, decided to agree with Ripley and nuke the site from the Sulaco.
After calling for evac, their dropship crashed, destroyed the APC, and exploded next to the APP. So, the survivors went back to the colony to hold out for as long as possible. After a few hours, they decided to remote pilot one of the other dropships from the Sulaco down to the colony for exfil because the APP was damaged and was set to explode in 4 hours.
But, the transmitter was destroyed with the APC and the colony transmitter couldn't be calibrated from Operations. So, the group sent Bishop to the colony transmitter because he volunteered and he was the only one qualified to remote pilot the ship.
While Bishop went to work on the transmitter, the aliens, whom Chris dubbed "Xenomorphs" because Gorman used the word before and these aliens didn't have a species name, attacked Operations. The xenos got through the first line of defense, but were pushed back at the second AND last line.
After another couple hours, Ripley and Newt were locked in Med Lab with the living Facehuggers, but were rescued by the Marines. Ripley suspected the culprit was Burke, and after questioning him, the Marines decided to waste him.
But then, the Xenomorphs cut the power and broke through to Operations. In the ensuing firefight, Hudson was taken by the xenos, Burke locked himself in Med Lab and was presumed KIA, Gorman and Vasquez killed themselves with a pulse rifle grenade, and Newt was lost through the vents.
Thankfully, Ripley gave Newt a tracker for good luck, and the survivors found Newt in the sewers. But, she was taken by a xeno before the survivors could get to her. Ripley wanted to go after her, but Hicks and Chris, realizing the situation they were in, got her to escape the colony before going after Newt.
While moving towards Bishop and the dropship, the three were attacked by a xeno. They killed it, but Hicks was wounded. While Ripley carried Hicks, Chris covered them and they made it to Bishop. Then, they flew towards the near critical APP to retrieve Newt.
Ripley, having learnt to use the Colonial Marines weapons from Hicks, combined a pulse rifle and flamethrower and set off to get Newt. She told Hicks and Chris to make Bishop wait until she got back, and they obliged. During the wait, Chris reloaded on ammo since he was running dry.
After about fifteen minutes, Bishop flew the dropship away from the platform they landed on. Chris told him to go back, but Bishop said the platform was too unstable at the moment and he had to wait for it to stabilize.
After another minute, Bishop flew back to the platform and found Ripley with Newt in hand, but a large xeno with them. After Chris got the two back on, Chris told Bishop they were clear and he flew away.
Then, everyone on board felt the APP explosion, which shook the dropship violently. But, Bishop managed to fly them away from the shockwave and back to the Sulaco.
Chris asked Ripley about the xeno that was on the platform with them, and she described it as like a "Queen", taking a suggestion from Hudson, as the xeno was found with dozens of eggs and she told other xenos what to do.
Eventually, the survivors had escaped to the Sulaco. Bishop informed the others that they needed a stretcher to get Hicks to Medical because of his injuries. As the survivors piled out, Bishop explained to Ripley and Newt why the dropship wasn't the there at first, but Ripley said Bishop did alright.
Then, part of the floor started to melt. Before anyone could do anything, a giant bladed tail went through Bishop. As the tail started to pick up the android, the owner was revealed to be the Queen xeno, and it somehow followed them onto the dropship. This brings us to the present.
The Queen just ripped Bishop in two and now exited the landing gear of the dropship. Ripley whispered to Newt "Go, move!" Newt started to back up, but the Queen noticed and started to growl at Newt, her translucent fangs showing.
Then Ripley yelled "No, here! Here!" The Queen quickly turned to Ripley and hissed at her. With the Queen distracted, Chris told Newt "Go, run!" The girl then ran and hid under the hangar floor.
Now that the Queen set its sights on Ripley and Chris, he said to Ripley "Uh, Ripley? I think we should run. Like, now." Ripley replied "Alright." Then, the two bolted to another hangar with the Queen close behind.
Once they got to the pressure door, Ripley quickly shut it, blocking the Queen. Now that they were safe, Chris yelled "Damnit, right when this thing was over!" Ripley then said "But Newt's still in there. The Queen's going to find her eventually. And when she does…"
Not wanting to imagine what would happen, Chris started to think of a plan to get rid of the Queen. He thought 'Alright, how can we kill this thing? We can always blow it out of an airlock. No, it could suck us out too. There was another dropship in there…'
A plan coming to Chris, he asked Ripley "Hey, you think you can distract that thing?" After Ripley saw a nearby power loader, she said "Yeah, I can distract it for a while." After hearing that, Chris said, "Good, because I have a plan and I need you to distract it."
Already getting into the power loader, Ripley said "Alright, what's the plan?" Chris replied, "I'll handle that. You just worry about distracting that thing."
Seeing that Ripley was ready in the power loader, Chris asked "Ready?" After taking a deep breath, Ripley said, "Ready." Nodding at the answer, Chris hit the button to open the pressure door.
The Queen was right on top of Newt, but was focusing on the now open pressure door. Ripley walked through with the power loader, and when she stopped, she said, "Get away from her, you BITCH!"
The Queen then hissed at Ripley and went to fight her. Now that the Queen was distracted, Chris ran to the dropship that didn't have Hicks in it. Once he arrived, he ran to the cockpit and checked the fuel.
Chris knew that it was USCM regulation that all dropships be fueled up in case there needed to be a dropship that needed to be remote piloted for a pickup or evac if the original dropship was destroyed.
After seeing that it was fueled up, Chris lowered the ramp at the bottom and ran to it. Once he was there, he saw Ripley managing to stay with the Queen, but was starting to slow down due to fatigue.
So, Chris quickly shouted "Hey, bitch!" Having been called that by Ripley, the Queen turned to Chris. When she was looking at him, Chris flipped her off and said, "Fuck you!" He then proceeded to fire a few rounds from his pulse rifle at her.
Granted, the bullets didn't have any effect because the Queen's armor was too thick, but they did manage to anger the Queen. Seeing his plan come to fruition, Chris ran back up to the cockpit.
Seeing that Chris ran into the dropship, the Queen chased him inside. Seeing this, Chris closed the ramp and trapped the Queen inside. Then, he started the launch sequence.
When the clamp grabbed the dropship to take it to the airlock, Ripley got on the horn and said "Alder, what the hell are you doing?" Chris replied, "I'm saving your guys asses, that's what I'm doing."
Ripley said "You didn't have to do it like this." Chris replied "Don't worry, I'm coming back. I'm just going to take my passenger out into space and drop her off."
The dropship got to the airlock when Chris continued with "But, if it happens that I don't come back, assume I'm KIA. Then, what you need to do is send word about what happened to USCM Command and wait for rescue."
When the door to the airlock closed over the dropship, Ripley replied "Alright. I'll be waiting for you." The airlock opened when Chris said "I'll probably be out for five minutes. See you soon." Chris then launched the dropship.
But, instead of dropping back to LV-426, Chris stayed upright and flew off into space. After flying for a few minutes, Chris said to himself, "I wonder why the Queen hasn't tried to kill me yet. Maybe it's because she realized that we're in space right now. Kill me, she's dead."
Chris continued, "If she can figure that out, she must be really smart. It doesn't matter. I'm going to space her anyway." After another minute, Chris said, "I think this is far enough away. Bye, Queen. See you in hell."
Right when he was about to hit the cargo bay door switch, a green and white colored portal opened in front of him. Distracted, Chris thought 'What is that? Is that a wormhole? I wondered if those thing were real. I guess this proves it.'
After realizing something, Chris said "And I'm going to fly right into it." He then turned around and said, "Hopefully, where ever this thing takes us, it'll kill you." He then turned back to the front and jetted the dropship straight through, the portal closing behind him.
Well, there's the prologue. Hopefully you guys/gals liked it. Please, leave a review to tell me if I'm doing anything wrong or to give me a suggestion. Also, for future reference, the xenomorphs will be getting dialogue, like actual words. But, in the story, they won't be talking. What the characters will hear will be nothing but hisses of growls. That's pretty much it, so see you guys next time.
