Defenceless Hero
A roar to make the blood run cold,
A tail of lightening speed,
Claw that can embed in concrete,
Arms capable of twisting steel.
So mighty he fights and glides by night,
A force to be reckoned with.

But with the coming of dawn,
That power and might is frozen within his sleeping form.
A body of warmth now cold, unmoving stone.
None unknowing would ever suspect the truth,
The life locked inside.

Defenceless now, exposed and vulnerable.
Before, a force to be reckoned with.
Now able to be destroyed beneath a falling hammer,
Ground to dust and scattered in the wind,
Without so much as a retaliatory growl.
