Harry adored Severus' canorous voice. It was deep and sexy, and it never, ever failed to make Harry hard, especially not when Severus dropped his tone from 'normal' to 'sultry.'
And when Severus sang…
Harry had been blown away the first time Severus sang. He had been mesmerized. Severus could evoke any emotion he chose with his voice. Harry had cried when Severus sang a sad song, had laughed when Severus sang a happy one, had gone nearly mad with need when Severus sang a sexy one.
Harry often begged Severus to sing. And Severus, if they were in private or surrounded by Muggles, often complied (often with a deprecating comment about the effect Harry had on him).
Severus had been the one to sing lullabies to their daughter. Harry had tried, but Nora opted instead for Severus' canorous voice.
Which made the current situation all the more ironic.
It was Christmas, they were shopping in Muggle London, and Severus had a wonderful repertoire of Christmas songs (as long as he remembered to keep them Muggle). He began to sing softly to please Harry, who grinned as he rifled through the rack of clothes they were looking at.
"Daddy Sevvy, please don't sing!" Nora cried.
"Why?" Harry asked pleasantly. "He has a wonderful voice."
"Daddy Harry, it's embarrassing when Daddy Sevvy sings. Surely you realize this."
Severus smirked. "I don't think he does. He often asks me to sing, after all."
"Daddy Harry, why would you do that?"
"I told you, he has a wonderful voice. Nora, you can't be embarrassed by everything we do."
"Why not? You two are so dorky!"
"Dorky?" Severus echoed, slightly confused.
"She means we're 'uncool.' Embarrassing, in other words. Nora, just because you think we're 'dorky' doesn't mean you have to impede our lives. If Severus wants to sing, let him."
"It's embarrassing that he's singing! What if someone recognizes us?"
"We're in Muggle London; the chances are quite slim," Harry laughed. "Besides, few people we know have heard Severus sing, so they aren't likely to recognize his voice anyway."
"Still! What if some cute guy sees me and doesn't come near because Daddy Sevvy is singing?"
"Better than the cute guy coming near," Severus answered immediately.
"Severus," Harry said warningly. "We've talked about this. We're not impeding, recall?"
"Oh, fine," Severus grumbled. "But this is exactly why I should sing."
"Besides," Harry laughed, "I think people would come near just because of his voice."
"Right! They'd come to meet him! That's so… awkward! Oh, Merlin! What if they're interested in my father instead of me?"
Harry snickered. "Nora, I doubt many guys your age would be particularly interested in Daddy Sevvy beyond listening to him sing."
"Yeah, but…"
"Nora, drop it. Go do your shopping. And stop asking us to stop doing things because you think they're embarrassing. Half the time, they're not."
Nora went off, still grumbling.
Severus began to sing softly again in his canorous voice while Harry grinned in pleasure.
