*Chapter 1*
"Kira....look over there"
"What Trinity! Wha-who happened?"
Glover High school's new student wandered around the sea of tables.
"That's my ex"
"The one that looks like an Arab?"
"Yes, he's not an Arab, he's Egyptian"
"Wait, don't they speak Arabian?"
Trinity tried to advert the subject "Hey, are you going to eat your egg roll?"
"No....."
"So how's life?"
"Not bad....." Trinity had to think of something else
"Did you finish you art project yet?"
Kira dashed around the table "OMG, No! IS IT DUE TODAY?!!"
"No."
Kira sat down. There was a minute of peace
"SO...YOU'RE GOING TO ANSWER MY QUESTION NOW?"
"Silence"
"Okay,so, why did you break up with him?"
"Silence "
"TRINITY!"
The cafeteria was suddenly quiet. The girls looked up.
"Oh no"
"What Trinity?"
"My ex, he's walking over here"
"Perfect! Maybe he can answer my question!"
"......"
The boy's proximity to the table grew shorter with every step. The steady rhythm of Trinity's increased every second.
"Tri? Are you okay? I've never seen you like this before"
"L-Like h-how?' She stuttered, barely able to get the words out.
"You're usually calmer, and more levelheaded."
Kira looked into her eyes. The footsteps stopped. She could feel the boy's lavender eyes pierce through her soul.
"What do you want Marik?" Trinity spoke with pure bitterness, an deadly aura in the air.
The cafeteria watched intently at the ex-couple. Even time had paused to view the end. They bore into one another's minds, waiting for a sign of weakness. Not a muscle moving, as if they were in another world. Marik's eyes softened, Trinity's hardened. He pivoted then glided away. The students, disappointed with the outcome, resumed to their normal activities.
Trinity closed her eyes "He pities me."
"What?" astonished that she could tell.
"You heard me Kira. He. Pities. Me."
"So? Who cares, he pities you, you don't."
"Kira,we've been best friends for 14 years right?"
"Yup! And I'm number one!"
Kuri couldn't help but laugh.
"Then you know pity bothers me."
The lunch bell interrupted, and the girls dropped the conversation.
"What do you have next Trinity?"
"Algebra, you?'
"
Art!"
"You wish, you have history."
"Do not"
"Do to"
"Not"
"To"
"Not"
"Alright, you go to art then." Trinity left.
"Or is history?"
Kira strolled aimlessly around the school, trying to figure out her next class.
"She pities me"
Marik walked toward 7th period. He stopped in front of a door marked Study Hall, thinking of the message.
"Hn...that fool, she thinks I care about her pity. I know.."
His thoughts were broken by the sound of a male's voice.
"Hey guys look at the new guy! The name's James and I run this place."
Marik analyzed the rowdy group of boys.
James got close to Marik's face "What, you don't speak?"
Marik tensed, his toned muscles peeking through his jacket. The group of boys gazed at the definition. Furious by the new guy reciving all of the attention, James 'flexed'.
"Hey! What do you think of these guns?"
The girls giggled at his self-absorbed personality. One called out
"Hey Jameswell! Sit down before you end up in your natural habitat!"
"And where is that Savanah?" he inquired
"Over the hill in the garbage dump!"
The classroom burst into laughter. Marik remained silent, content with the results of his plan.
