Chapter 1: End of the Summer
Dipper woke up on August the 1st, and then remembered; "Oh no, Summer's almost over." he muttered. He wondered if he could squeeze in some more secrets from the book '3'. Okay, um... Evil doors, witches, trolls, Goblins...hmm, I don't think there's anything left in here! "Well, that's just perfect." he whispered, when he got pummeled by a pillow from behind. "Gah!" he yelled, flying over the side. "Wake up, Genius! It's the first day of summer!" his sister Mabel exclaimed, somersaulting up and down on the bed. "What?! How is that possible? Todays August the...first?" he said, looking at the calendar; May 21st... how?! he wondered. "Come on Dipstick, aren't you excited for summer?" she said, hopping down. "Yeah, it's just...Summer was going to end soon as of last night..." he said confused. "C'mon, we're going to Great Uncle Stan's house tonight! I hope he has an attic full of knitting materials! I need to knit some new sweaters!" she squealed. Dipper turned, and '3' was still there. I wonder...
Meanwhile, in another dimension...
A boy in his sleeping bag woke up late that night to a loud noise. "Sheez, I wonder what's going on outside?" he said, rubbing his eyes. He forgot where his hat was, so he he let his unusually long hair flow. "Yo, Dawg." he said, throwing a pebble at his yellow dog. "Aagh, what the glob, Finn? Stop throwing Rocks when you wanna wake me up!" he said, wincing. "Sorry Jake. I heard a noise, and I wanna know what the biz is." Finn replied, shrugging. Jake stretched his way downstairs to the 1st floor of their tree fort. "Wait for me, Jake! Whoop whoop!" he said, jumping down head first. Finn landed, and did a roll over to the door where Jake was. "What up with the crater out there?" Finn said peeking out the door's window. "I dunno, maybe we should check it out, I'm hoping there'll be some pancakes in there. Jakey need Midnight snacky." he said, going outside. They ran for about 20 feet or so, when they found the crater, along with a book in the crater. It had a picture of a six-fingered hand that read, '4'. "What the junk is that, Finn?" Jake said, peeking at the book Finn was holding. Finn opened it to the first entry, and read it out loud; "If you are reading this, then you are the one chosen to write of all the mystical items and creatures in your domain. You will receive help from two people, younger than one, but older than the other." "What does that mean?" Jake said after Finn finished. "...I have no idea."
