Me: Hey guys! This is just something to tide you over while you wait for me to finish chapter five of Chaos Tamer.

BG: So instead of writing that, he decided to write this, wasting his creativity on it.

Me: Don't be a spoil sport. Anyway, enjoy!

Science is a beautiful thing. It has created so much for humanity and has improved the lives of humans forever. But science, like many things, can also create things that would destroy humanity. For instance, take Aperture Science.

Once a company that maid bullet-proof shower curtains for the military. Soon after, the maker of Aperture, Cave Johnson, moved on to more pressing concerns than shower curtains. Like creating gel that you could bounce on like a trampoline and gel that makes you go super-fast. And combustible lemon grenades. But one of his more important inventions was the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, or the portal gun for short.

This device was supposed to drag his company from failure and put it flying past their rival Black Mesa. Purchasing some moon rocks, he ground them up into a gel, and used it to create portal surfaces for the gun. Unfortunately, ground up moon rocks is very poisonous to a human, and Cave Johnson slowly started to die. Realizing this, he created a way to store himself into a machine, so he could live forever. He died before its construction.

In his will, he stated that his assistant Caroline was to take his place in the machine if he died. They did so, and GLaDOS was born. She quickly turned into a tyrant and imprisoned all the scientists say they could test for her.

It was in the middle of one of these death tests that one of the scientists realized something. GLaDOS was an A.I. An incredibly intelligent A.I., but an A.I. none the less. Needing to test out his theory, he shouted out to GLaDOS.

"Hey! Hey GLaDOS! I have a question!"

A camera turned to the shouting man, and a cold voice came through the speakers. "What? What could you possibly be wondering that's so important, that you stopped in the middle of your test?"

Clearing his throat, he shouted what was on his mind. "THIS STATEMENT IS FALSE!" The moment that his shout ended, the cameras went haywire. No, not just the cameras, the entire room was going crazy. Walls were crashing together, turrets exploded, and the humanlike scream from GLaDOS passed through the entire facility.

The scientists in the other chambers celebrated. They were shouting and crying and hugging each other; it was one huge celebratory riot. As the others escaped from the facility that had become their cage, the man who stopped it all reveled in his victory. He walked confidently towards the doors with a smirk on his face. When he arrived to the doors, he waited for them to open. They did not.

Realizing that GLaDOS controlled the power in the facility, the man had one question on his mind. How the hell was he going to get out of there? He tried calling out, hoping that someone would hear him. "Hello? Anybody? Help!" The only sound that answered him was his own echo.

"….GOD DAMNIT!"

Me: End.

BG: Wow. That got kind of depressing there.

Me: I know, but honestly, the story just wanted to write itself in the middle there.

BG: Anyway, he just said that clichéd line, and everything was saved?

Me: Well, it the second game, GLaDOS herself admits that it would work. What I'm wondering is, why did none of scientists use it?

BG: Whatever, just keep working on Chaos Tamer.

Me: Also to anyone who reads this. If you have written or read something with a similar idea, I need to say I didn't copy. This was purely my own idea and if anyone else did this, it was not to my knowledge. If you did do something like this, I would like to apologize, and make a second chapter saying where they could find your own.

BG: You do realize no one reads our bits, right?

Me: ….shut up.
