Hi there! I'm a new author and my first submission is this poem. It's based on what I imagined Kai might have been like at the abbey - I kinda thought he'd be the type of person to get depressed - and Tala would have watched sort of helplessly (maybe that's just me), so anyway... this is what popped out of my brain when I was attempting to write my english coursework. Reviews would be loved, especially constructive criticism as I know this is very very rough!
Was there a sign that I didn't see?
Something that happened between you and me?
You promised you'd never change
But you did.
There's something wrong,
Something hiding in the shadows
Turning you away from the light.
I don't know what's going on.
How can I help if I can't see
What you're seeing in that dark wasteland.
You choose to wander alone.
Why won't you let me in like before?
Fight the nightmares, open the door
Back to normality, friends, warmth.
Instead you keep walking, further
Off the track.
Don't stray away,
Into darkness, the endless expanse.
The shadowed grass ripples.
You turn, spiralling down and down
Into the black hole of your own mind.
Falling, twisting, turning.
You wake from living your nightmare.
I want to scream "it's not real!",
You turn away, hiding the pain.
But I can see it in your eyes now, the darkness that consumes you
You've changed beyond recognition - where did it all go so wrong?
