I was watching dexter one day and started to wonder what our great detective would think if he saw the show?

Thus, this idea was created.

For those readers who don't know what dexter is, it is a show about a serial killer who also works for the police. He doesn't get caught because his dad taught him how to avoid it by only killing other killers.

There is season two spoiler for Dexter at the very end. It is not a big one but it is still there.

Now onward!

Disclaimer: I don't own Psych or Dexter.

I walked into my house to see Katie sitting on the couch. I saw her scramble for the remote as I took off my shoes. She hit a button and gave me an innocent smile.

What was she watching?

I walked into the room and looked at the TV. There was an image was of a man with dark brown hair at a crime scene. He was dressed to casually to be a cop or detective, and he was looking at the body a lot closer than a cop or detective would. I guessed he was Forensics.

"You're watching a police show without me?" I asked Katie, sitting down next to her and putting my arm around her shoulder. She moved closer to me and spoke.

"Well, its not really the normal cop show. Its from my dimension. My mom brought it with her."

"What makes it not a normal cop show?" I asked. She sighed.

"It would be easier if you just watched."she told me. I nodded.

"Well we have nothing else to do tonight. Why not." I said. She looked a little apprehensive about it but took the remote and selected episode one on the DVD menu.

About three episodes later I was staring at the screen in shock.

"How does no one realize they have a serial killer working in their office? I mean, they are all detectives!" I said incredulously.

"His dad was a cop. He taught Dexter the code so he wouldn't get caught." Katie said shrugging.

"But you're mom was a cop and didn't teach you that." I pointed out. Then I looked at me closer. "Right?"

I mean, it was possible.

She burst out laughing. My face must have show I was serious and she stopped laughing.

"Of course not." she said. I nodded and brought her closer to me.

*next day at the station*

"Good morning detectives." Chase said to me. Chase worked in forensics and always brought in doughnuts.

Just like Dexter I thought as I took a doughnut. I stared at Chase, who just stood there under my gaze. Normally I was alright with Chase. He did, after all, bring doughnuts. Katie took one.

'Thanks Chase." She told him. He nodded and Katie nudged me with her elbow.

"I'm on to you, Chase." I finally said to him. "You and your serial killer ways."

Chase smiled, though it seemed a little forced. Like Dexter's would. I didn't see the look on Katie's face but I assumed she took I bite of her doughnut when I said that because she started choking.

"I think you've been spending a little to much time out in the Santa Barbra sun with that tux on." He said. "You should probably sit. And drink more water. Have to stay hydrated to lock up those bad guys."

I just glared at him and turned around. I heard Katie apologize to him and then her footsteps behind me.

Oh yes. I will not be the stupid cop who doesn't even realize there is a killer in my own station.

I must have said that out loud because Katie spoke.

"You didn't get far enough, but Doakes, the man who knows there is something up with Dexter, dies because of it. I would be careful of who you are accusing." She said to me.

I looked back at Chase and noticed he didn't seem to happy. He caught me watching and smiled at me in an unsettling way.

Maybe I would just stay quiet. For now.
