FfoJ #3; GanjuxHana, because the days are getting hotter in in the Northern Hemisphere…
…
"Hot today, isn't it Hana?" Ganju said, meeting the young Shinigami outside, two ice pops in hand.
"Yeah, I guess," he said, taking the cold treat gladly.
The ironic thing was, it was a joke amongst the people of Rukongai that the rose a little higher over the Soul Society, and it certainly seemed to prove true that day; Ganju had never remembered it being this hot before, and on his first day in "enemy territory" too. He had made an exception for the Hanatarou though, he was one of the closest things that the young Soul Reaper had to a friend after all. What also seemed to prove effective was that Hanatarou hadn't been the butt of anyone's jokes for a whole day, a new record.
Both Ganju and Hanatarou had noticed the almost symbiotic relationship that the two had developed with each other; Hanatarou received protection, and Ganju had developed more acceptance towards Soul Reapers. And they both had gained a new friend in the process.
As the day cooled off, Ganju and Hanatarou continued to spend the day together. Maybe it was the companionship, maybe it was because they truly got along, who knows, but they still agreed to be together. Neither of them had ever really liked someone else, really liked someone else, so they wouldn't recognize feelings for each other even if they had them.
Still, on that same hot summer day, that didn't stop them from trying to kiss just once, just to taste the sweet pop juice still on each other's lips.
