The wild one year ride was over and the Four Horsemen were now magic royalty and the most accurate way to describe what bonded them was the word loyalty. Through the years before they'd all come together, it would've been easy for the foursome to dismiss the term as just another five dollar word to describe something that didn't really exist - much like love or family.

To be fair, Henley came from a loving home. This must have been quite clear in the way she so easily cared for "her boys," always there to make sure they were well cared for even when they drove her to the very end of her wits. Merritt's family was merely living proof that the only good family was for was fucking you over. It had been a tough lesson for him, but one well learned. Daniel kept his family and anyone who even seemed as though they might even remotely care for him at arm's length at all times. Always two steps ahead of them, after awhile his family stopped chasing him, stopped hoping that maybe one day he'd come around, and finally started to accept that they'd have to love him from a distance - however emotionally great that distance may be.

And Jack, well, he had no family at all and he needed this one more than any of them did. He hadn't had the option of pushing anyone away or the opportunity to decide to be anything other than on his own. So they were one another's family now, once again proving that you couldn't choose your family.

And doesn't family mean that no one gets left behind?
