After Momo passed his driver's test, his parents offered to buy him a car for his next birthday. Momo's mind was instantly filled with images of him cruising along some un-named highway, roof down, wind blowing into his face, but not affecting his vision as, naturally, he was wearing sunglasses.
His short-lived dream was ruthlessly hacked to pieces when his parents informed him the car he got would be second-hand, and also, his parents were going to pick it.
…which meant he was probably going to be driving around in a bright orange Nissan Micra until he could afford to have it burned or somethin'…
Nonetheless, the prospect of owning a car excited Momo, and as he cycled to pick up Ryoma, he was looking forward to telling the younger boy and shoving it in his face that the boy wouldn't be able to drive for at least a year.
Ah yes, life was good.
He decided to wait to break the news to him, so was cheerily chatting along to the boy who was perched behind him as he cycled along; he always enjoyed their rides. Momo talking about anything and everything, Ryoma occasionally hitting him in annoyance, the time they had seen Kaidoh on his morning jog and tagged along with him for a little while, much to the boy's annoyance…
The daily bike ride held great memories. Memories Momo wasn't prepared to give up.
His parents were shocked when he turned down the offer of the car, and his Dad clipped him round the ear when he asked if he could just have the money instead.
They did get him a really cool mountain bike though.
Their first journey on it had been…turbulent to say the least. Momo was only just used to riding it himself, so maybe shoving an extra person on the back wasn't the cleverest of ideas, but hey, what's the worst that could happen?
Driving into a wall and a couple of bushes, apparently.
By the time they'd arrived at school, Ryoma was ignoring him and picking branches out of his hair, periodically glaring at his senpai in annoyance.
Though Momo couldn't blame him for having a confused look on his face when Momo had yelled at him in a hurt tone: "I GAVE UP A CAR FOR YOU!!"
