First ever Harry Potter fic, read till the end!
"Draco, you're driving too fast. I'm scared." Hermione fasten her hold on her boyfriend's waist as they zoomed down the steep road downhill.
"Aw, I'm just starting to enjoy it. Sorry babe. Give me a kiss on the cheeks and I'll slow down." Draco said.
The young girl obeyed and kissed him on the cheeks. Her moist lips firmly pressed on his pale smooth face for a mere second.
"Say you love me Hermione" Draco muttered. Somehow he seemed tensed, Hermione noticed.
"I love you" Slightly confused at the request, Hermione whispered into his ears.
"Hey, can you take off my helmet and put it on you? It's annoying me." Draco mumbled dryly.
Hermione, with a huff - a slight annoyance slowly build up inside her - removed his helmet and securely put it on herself.
"Hey Hermione."
"Yeah?"
"I love you."
Seconds later, as Hermione was once again about to asked him to slow down the motorcycle, a loud screech tore through the silent night.
The teenage girl awoke from the dark abyss as a person removed the helmet from her head. She was lying flat on her back against the cold hard ground. "Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?" the man had asked. Nodded slightly, she tried to stand up and flinched as a sharp pain surged through her legs.
The man had yelled something along the lines of 'bring the bleachers' but she wasn't really listening. She had become very concerned about something else. Draco.
Not far behind her, police were examining where the crash had happened. "...brakes were snapped. Couldn't control the speed.".
Her minds went blank for a second. The blood inside her veins turned frozen. Icy chills ran up her spine and numbed her fingertips. Tears finally welled up then. As the pieces fell together. As it all finally made sense. As she finally understood.
Draco had known. He knew that the brakes were busted. He had not told her for the sake so that she would not have panicked. He had told her to kiss him. To say she loves him. For one last time.
As she was lifted onto the bleachers and into the ambulance, her eyes traveled to where a covered body laid motionless. The feet were visible. The shoes. She knew those shoes. Draco's. And the reason why he was covered up meant only one thing. It was that he…was dead. The man holding the bleacher followed her gaze and his eyes softened. Eyebrows furrowed. "I'm sorry" He said.
The fact sink into her. She did not take it lightly. Her body shook and she flipped around, the bleacher lost it's balance and she fell onto the ground. The blow knock the air out of her lungs and she felt as if her insides were somehow gone and it was so heavy as she tried to move. Her thighs screamed in pain. Despite that, she crawled on her hands and feet. To where her lover was. No…please…no
Her hand trembled as she reached her hand forward. She stopped mid-air. Hesitated. She bit her lips and slowly peeled away the black cloth. He pale skin turned so many shades whiter. It was an eerily sick color. As if a vampire on a binge had gotten hold of him. "Draco" She stammered. "Draco…please" Her voice croaked as she grabbed his hand. Hermione had experienced death before. But never had she touched a lifeless body. His warm soft hand had turned cold. But perhaps what stood out the most was the hard stiff flesh. Warm tears rolled down her cheeks and dripped onto his skin.
She sobbed.
So…yeah. A bit short. Not the best work I ever did, but this idea was just forcing itself out. Review if you think it's worth it :)
