Gray's POV
Seeing her lying there on the cold, hard ground covered in dirt and blood tore a hole in his heart of ice. Hell.. He knew he should never have let her go on ahead, alone, to deal with the dark guild's master. DAMNIT. It was all his fault that the woman he had grown to care about so deeply, now lay on the ground, bleeding out. I was taken out of my stupor when I heard her trying to call my name..
"G-Gray.." she groaned, the pain in her voice causing me to fall to my knees beside her.
"Lucy, don't talk, try to save your energy, Wendy will be here soon to help you." I heard myself say, seeing determination and hope fill her eyes, it spurred me on. I couldn't be down or it would impact her, I had to be strong for the beautiful blonde lying on the floor in front of me "Lucy you'll be okay, I promise. I'm not letting you die. We're nakama, we stick together, okay?" she nodded weakly.. God.. Even in this state she was beautiful..
"LUCY!" I heard a feminine voice shout. Wendy must be here. Thank the lord.. She would live.
"Lucy, just stay still, I'm here to look after you now" The young dragon slayer said softly, resting a hand on Lucy's forehead "Gray, you can relax now.. Go and calm down, she's okay."
All I could do was follow the young girl's instructions, so I went for a walk, leaving the girls to it.
Lucy's POV
I opened my eyes, and I could see Gray looking over me, worry filling his eyes. Ugh.. I had to be so big-headed and think I could take on a dark guild Master way out of my league.. Wait, where was he? What had happened after he had taken me down? I should ask, maybe he got away.
"G-Gray.." I mumbled, sounding weaker than I had meant to, which must have been why he fell to his knees by my side, poor guy, I must have worried him sick, the Master had trusted him to take care of me, he was probably terrified I wouldn't make it and he'd be killed by the guild.
"Lucy, don't talk, try to save your energy, Wendy will be here soon to help you." I heard him say, he was almost whispering.. I really did give him a scare.. The least I could do would be to do as he wanted, so I stopped talking to put him at ease. "Lucy you'll be okay, I promise. I'm not letting you die. We're nakama, we stick together, okay?" I nodded, giving him a faint smile.
"LUCY" I heard Wendy's familiar voice shout, and her footsteps headed straight towards me, she was running.
"Lucy, just stay still, I'm here to look after you now" The sweet, young girl said softly, leaning down and resting her hand on my forehead, I felt a rush go over my body as the pain ebbed away "Gray, you can relax now.. Go and calm down, she's okay." I smiled.
Wait.. Was Gray leaving..? Damnit.. When I needed him most he was leaving.. Ugh.. I gave in, leaning back and closing my eyes.
