Darkness fills your heart with promises,
with a cruel tenderness you never felt.
It's easy to lose yourself in the lies
of the evil instrument you possess.
(Or does it possess you, instead?)
Like the moon pulling the tide closer to her
you feel your anger rise and grow.
Cheating is the main argument you hear,
but don't you notice is not real?
(It just wants to lure you away)
The day comes when the heart of the knight
becomes blind to the mercy of the king
and denies with passion the love of the witch.
The knight leaves for a better kingdom.
(Even if he knows there's no better king)
With hope for the sunlight he rides into dawn,
never noticing the darkness he kept on his heart.
Lanterns are extinguished and the stars blown out.
The sun is the king, but the knight doesn't see.
(Too blind with rage to be blinded with light)
The turncloak knight soon falls,
and nobody's there to help him.
Darkness engulfs him, drowns him, kills him.
His soul is aghast with the deeds of his wrath.
(Is it too late to go back to his king?)
