Among the Fields of Gold

It was the summer after Ginny's sixth year at Hogwarts. She was sitting out on the porch looking at the sun. The whole day had been one of the best days in her life, except for one thing. Harry wasn't there. He didn't return to school for his last year, as he said. Ron and Hermione followed him on his way to defeat Voldemort and he did it, but disappeard right after. Ron and Hermione had to go back without him.

She thought back on the day they returned...

Ginny was helping her mother in the kitchen when she raised her head and looked out the window. There, among the trees she saw her brother, Ron, followed by Hermione.

"Mum!" Ginny shouted to her mother, but before Mrs Weasley had the chance to answer, Ginny was running towards her brother and best friend.

"Ron, Hermione, Harr..." Ginny stopped. She hadn't noticed, Harry wasn't with them. "Where's Harry?" she asked with a confused voice.

Both Hermione and Ron looked down on the muddie ground bellow them.

"This better be a sick joke," she said with tears in her eyes. "He better stand behind thoose trees!"

Hermione raised her head and Ginny could see a tears fall down her face. It wasn't until Ron walked over to her and hugged her she realized what had happened. Harry wasn't coming back. She wanted to hope, so badly that he was. The days that followed, a thick mist entered Ginny's head. She cried herself through the nights, but putt on another face in the days.

"Ginny, fancy a cup of tea?" Ginny was taken back to the reality by Hermione who was visiting them over the summer.

"Yes, please." Ginny answerd. "That would be nice."

Ginny took the cup and she felt the warmth, it was needed because it was getting a bit chilly. Ginny could see that Hermione looked a bit frozen too. As an answer to Ginny's presumption Hermione said:

"Uh, it's getting cold. We should go in so we dosen't catch a cold." Hermione said and got op on her feets. She turned around in the doorway and asked:

"Aren't you coming?"

"No, I'll stay a while." answered Ginny.

"Okey then." She flicked with her wand and a big yellow blanket appeard over Ginny.

"Thanks!" Ginny said.

Hermione nodded as she walked in.

Ginny looked out over the fields. It was so beautiful, especially in the sunset. It looked like it was made of gold. She closed her eyes and fell asleep.

When she woke up the sun was almost down and it was a bit more cold. Ginny got up on her feet and was just about to turn around when seh saw someone coming towards her walking out of the sunset. She stepped down from the porch and walked a little bit closer to the field. Then she saw who it was. She saw the dark hair and the emerald eyes. It was Harry. Ginny ran through the waisthigh grass. She stopped a few steps away from him. He had a vague smile on his lips, a vague, tired smile. And finally he took a few steps forwards and his face cracked up in a big smile. Ginny fell into his arms. They hugged each other for what felt as a life time and when they broke apart Ginny said with a little smile:

"Don't you ever leave me like this again, Potter."

He shook his head and kissed her.
