Like I stated in the description, this story sounds like a fail to me. But I posted it in case /someone/ (not sure who) would enjoy this, at anyone's insistence I'd finish it because you know I love you, readers ;D
If I did finish it it'd probably be short and one shot-ish. Just a quick sketch of an idea, but possibly thought provoking.
Enjoy! :)
Wally West ran circles around the lap ring in Central City Park.
He had been jogging for quite awhile now, as he always did every Friday. Of course, it would look like running to every civilian, but the redhead knew that this was literally a stroll in the park. The sky was clear and blue, and the air bit Wally's nose and ear tips.
He paused, breathing out small billows of steam. Walking over to a near leafless tree, he reached down and drank a few gulps of water.
Today was the first day he felt it.
The teenager narrowed his eyes and turned around abruptly. Nothing was there. He turned back slowly, his eyes slow to follow, though he took another drink.
There it was again.
Wally spun around so fast this time he nearly fell over. But again, nothing was there.
"Alright Wally, stay calm. I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation for this. It's probably a squirrel, or a gust of wind, or…" he paused. "…I'm losing my mind. That's probably it. Too much running."
He settled on this, though running at this pace had never been too much for him in the past.
He picked up his stuff, and left the park.
One week later…
It was colder than the previous week, though it was only the second week of November. Wally rubbed his hands together to warm up some as he began a few light stretches.
But it came again.
The feeling that he was being watched hit him like a train.
His green-eyed gaze whipped around wildly, but he couldn't see anything. He didn't understand.
"I'm losing it. I'm completely losing it," he breathed, running his fingers through his hair. He dropped his water bottle back into his bag though, and began his jog.
The next week Wally heard people talking about him.
Everywhere and everyone- they were whispering things behind his back, in front of his face, the entire park was pointing and giggling and laughing and talking.
"What is it with people? I come here every Friday," he mumbled, giving them dirty glances in return.
They laughed even harder.
Wally decided to ignore it though, and began his workout anyway.
A week later Wally had completely finished his workout when he heard felt the same feelings again.
Not only was someone watching and talking about him, but they were stealing his ideas too.
"Hey what if we tried water skiing…but in the air?" A nearby skateboarder laughed to his friend.
The brown-haired kid laughed in reply.
"Hey that was my idea!" Wally frowned, crossing his arms.
The boys looked at him and just laughed even harder.
