Introduction: More to life
Have you ever seen a ghost? Those spirits floating around, aimlessly in the darkness. Stumbling around, as though searching for what was once their life. People think I'm crazy, over-active imagination they tell me, but they're real, because I can see them, talk to them.
A lot of ghosts are friendly, they have thoughts just like you and I, however, there are some who aren't so nice. Darker souls, that have been bound to the earth due to their sins. They wander around, tormenting other spirits, even after death they inflict hurt upon others. I avoid those spirits. Then, there's the blurs. Giant blurs of black and white, moving with force around the town, their screams run through you, filling your body with hatred, cold blooded hatred. But they're never around for long, soon a warm feeling will entomb you and the blur will have gone.
The once I remember, walking down a back alley to my girlfriend's, to arrive at an open street, near a football field. This particular blur was larger than most, faint as it was, I could make out piercing eyes, and a large, gaping mouth, truly a creature of the darkness. It was attacking a group of near by spirits, whom I recognised as the children of a local, who'd passed away not long ago in a car accident. I longed to help them, even I knew their fate should the blur take them into his grasp, he'd devour them and grow in size, before leaping off to find it's next victim (I'd seen this before). The dark mass swung down at the group, who were now scattering, screaming at one another to run, but it was helpless, the creatures sheer size covered half the street, running was pointless. That's when I saw him. A man, dressed in black and white robes, a scarf wrapped loosely around his neck standing upon a near by building. I moved closer to gain a better view, but when I stepped forward, he'd disappeared. The street had fallen silent. I peered around, no signs of the blur, the spirits, the man upon the roof, they'd all gone. I continued along the path, knowing my girlfriend's house was not far ahead, to feel a strong breeze from behind me. I turned sharp, fearing the worst. False alarm, it was a passing car. I looked up to see a rare sight in England, a cherry blossom fell before me. How odd, I thought. The nearest blossom tree was three blocks away at least. I guessed the wind was strong tonight. Again, a gust blew dust into my eyes, blinding me for a second, once my vision returned, the blossom too, was gone.
It started there...
