As lightning flashed, a moment of silence, but for the pitterpatter of the rain, struck both of them with firm force. "I never wanted this for us."
Her voice sank to a whisper. Rain poured slick onto their faces until they were both squinting at each other and wondering what to do next.

"That's the problem, isn't it?"
He didn't answer.
"That's stupid," she muttered. The bang of thunder covered her words, and she gave him a bitter kiss before turning around and walking through the puddles.
