9/11/2001

Smoke, ash, fire, everywhere

Running, running, safety just a little ways away

A hand, small, fragile, a life line but for who?

Little brother, lost, scared, holds on trying to stay together

Parents just outside, mom, dad, almost there

A shout, someone locked in a room

A life of acrobatics allows the door to be kicked in.

A woman scared and trapped, ignoring the dead body on the ground

Reaching out, touching, give and ask for a name

Another hand, another connection

Light from a window, proof of safety

The rumbling of the building collapsing, just a little farther

Pushing hands forwards, finally safe

Darkness, complete darkness, except for one light, over finally, safe

*6 years later* 9/11/2007

A memorial, a remembrance

Sadness, despair, loss

Emotions the same as that day

People, praying, crying, wishing

Last goodbyes that had never been said before

Survivors standing together, never forgetting

A group of friends and family together supporting

A little boy known for 5 years, but then it was 6

Smoke, ash, fire, everywhere

Running, running safety just a little ways away

The door kicked in

Ignoring the body on the ground

Reaching out, touching, give and ask for a name

Another hand, another connection

Light from a window, proof of safety

The rumbling of the building collapsing, just a little farther

Pushing hands forwards, finally safe

Looking into his eyes, no response

Looking into his eyes, the little brother

The others look over

Talking, the brothers, the building collapsing, the one that didn't make it

Questions from the husband, the fastest man alive

Answers from the younger brother, the boy wonder

A promise never told to later be fulfilled

A memory that should never be forgotten

*8 years later* 9/11/2009

The nurse asks for their names

Two little boys, one older, one younger

Mathew and Grayson Allen-West, both with the middle name Richard

A memory that will never be forgotten

*15 years later* 9/11/2016

A walk to the cemetery, custom, before with their parents, now on their own

The younger runs ahead while the older stays back

A grave, a memory, a memory never forgotten

And it said:

Mathew John Grayson

1994-2001

Twin, son, flying Grayson, hero

"Mathew the boy wonder, keep flying our little sparrow."

A/n: if you guys have like no idea what is going on then review or pm me and if I get one or two I will answer individually but if I get a ton I will put in a second chapter that answers all of your questions. So thank you for reading, please review. Never forget what happened on 9/11, it was a tragic loss for the USA but also started us on a new journey and made us see what was truly important. Love you guys, bye.
