How Sasuke picked up the art of handstands from Kakashi. GEN, 379 words

-

Kakashi found his pupil standing by the Uchiha graves when he wasn't training. The boy had his hands deep in his pockets, and a very complex look on his face the jounin knew others couldn't easily identify with. But he was Kakashi. That changed things, a lot. He knew when the Uchiha was hurting, when the boy thought he had fooled others.

Unfortunately, Kakashi wasn't included into the category as an other. He was Uchiha Sasuke's teacher, and knew more about his pupil (he'd never admit outloud that this boy was the biggest source of his pride), than anyone else.

So when Sasuke shot him a funny look, with drawn eyebrows that accused of the older male intruding on his privacy, something that Kakashi interpretated in Uchihalogy: what the hell are you doing here, Kakashi? (of course without the sensei suffix, not like that is a very extraordinary thing standing on its own), Kakashi immediately lifted both hands in the air. Icha Icha Paradise wasn't in either. But that wasn't the point.

"Yo, Sasuke." Kakashi.

"...Hn." Closed eyes. But in that brief moment, when Kakashi recognized the same tinge of bitterness, similar hints of pain and loneliness in them carefully veneered beneath tints of hatred and anger, (he knows, he's been there before when he was Sasuke's age), the jounin found his world tilting 180 degrees over.

Sasuke blinked uncharacteristically, before frowning. Kakashi thought his student was always a sourpuss, anyway. "What are you doing, Kakashi?" He asked.

"I'm doing a handstand." Was his nonchalant reply.

Narrowed eyes. Sasuke crossed his arms. "And why would you do that for?" Unless his sensei was mimicking Gai and his exuberant display of youth by doing 3000 handstands around Konoha.

Kakashi's smile beneath his mask was unmistakable, though.

"So my tears don't fall out when I'm upside down."

The next day, Uzumaki Naruto accidentally stumbles upon his teammate by the Uchiha graves, and furrows his eyebrows at the sight of his friend's eccentric behavior. Among the blocks and tablets of gray hues and tones, there stands out a shade of blue that's Sasuke...

...who's standing on his hands, seeing the world as it is upside down 180 degrees.

At that moment, Sasuke thinks Kakashi can't be more right when he says so.
