Hello. My name is Jane. At least that's what the doctors call me. Jane Doe. I don't remember who I am or where I'm from. I was found walking in the woods with a severe head injury and was taken to a local hospital. I'll tell you as much as I can remember....
I opened my eyes slowly and squinted against the sunlight that shone through the treetops. I was apparently in a forest. But why? I sat up and felt pain shoot through my entire head. I felt something warm running down the side of my face, I wiped it away and noticed my hand was covered in blood. I touched my head and felt a deep gash. There was blood on a nearby rock as well. I must have fallen and hit my head. My mind was clouded in a thick fog. Who was I? I stood up slowly and staggered before getting my balance. I had to find out where I was. Maybe I would meet someone who knew me. I walked, calling out, hoping someone would hear me.
"Hello? Can anyone hear me?! Help!"
I heard cars nearby and soon found myself standing next to a highway. I desperately tried to flag down the passing vehicles but went ignored until one finally stopped to see if I needed help. The motorist got out and approached me.
"Are you alright young lady?" they asked.
"I need help," I told them. "I can't remember anything."
"Come on, I'll take you to the hospital."
He ushered me to his car and drove me into the city to the hospital for medical attention. X-rays were taken and the wound was stapled shut. I was questioned about my identity and when I couldn't give them an answer they named me Jane Doe. I was shown to my room and given some medication for the pain. I laid down on the soft bed and closed my eyes. I just wanted to get some rest at that moment. Maybe my dreams would help me figure out something about my past.
