There it was. The monstrosity was just sitting there. Hobbes tried to ignore it, but it was calling to him. Jack had been out for a while, and there was no telling when he would be back. Hobbes wondered if Jack would notice it if he secretly removed it.

No, he would notice. Jack had few possessions and this one would definitely go on the "Where in the hell is it?" list. Or in Jack's case, "Where the heck is it?"

Hobbes walked over, touched it. It didn't respond. There was no electrical charge from it. "I wonder if I push it what would happen." He gave it a gentle push; it swayed but did not fall. "Good grief, what has he got in this thing?"

Finally he could stand it no more; he pulled back his fist, and hit it as hard as he could. Crash! The punching bag knocked over Sidney's computer. Hobbes just shrugged and walked away, "Oh well, hope he's got a back-up."
