This is my take on the Harry Potter series if he had a friend before re-entering the Wizarding World

Disclaimer: I don't own anything except Jocelynn. Everything belongs to Queen JK Rowling. If I owned Harry Potter let's just say the Golden Trio would be Harry/Luna/Neville, the couples would be different and a different Weasel would die.

Prologue

July 1986

She saw him...

She saw him again...

The raven haired, green-eyed bespectacled boy tending to the garden in the smoldering summer heat. He couldn't have been no older than 3 or 4 years old.

What the heck is he doing out here in this heat?'

She ran into the house and got two ice cold bottles of water. She looked across the street and he had moved on to planting new flowers. She looked both ways before crossing Privet Drive. She ran from number 7 to the side gate of number 4 and crawled past the windows into the backyard. She peered inside and the portly man and horse-faced woman sat inside sipping lemonade. Their whale of a child ate ice cream while sitting in front of the telly. She walked up to the small, bespectacled boy.

"You want some water?"

He didn't even look up at her as he answered, "No, thanks."

"Why, it's hot."

"Because freaks like me don't deserve water." He said

She gasped. He finally looked up at her. Fear. Fear is all she saw in his eyes.

"Please, Please don't tell anyone what I said."

"Why not?"

He just shook his head.

She extended her hand with the water in it. He stared at it for a while. He licked his dry lips and snatched it out of her hand, downing half the bottle in one gulp. She smiled and drank her water.

'Thanks." He said gratefully.

"You're welcome, What's your name?"

"Harry" He wiped the sweat off his brow and pushed his hair back. That's when she saw it. The scar. This wasn't just any Harry. This was Harry Potter. She managed to school her expression.

"I'm Jocelynn, how old are you?"

"I'm five." He looked too small to be only five.

"I'm six."

"WHAT'S THIS?" The portly man bellowed. She heard heavy footsteps and heels clicking.

Josie turned around and the portly man, his horse-faced wife and their whale son were staring at her.

"I'm sorry Uncle Vernon, she just snuck in here." Harry said

"Snuck. Snuck. DON'T LIE TO ME BOY. YOU'RE OUT HERE TELLING HER ALL OUR BUSINESS.!" Vernon bellowed charging at Harry.

She moved and stood in front of Harry.

"VERNON STOP." Horse-face said

"Tuney, he's blabbering to the neighbors. Can't have them snooping now can we."

"While I agree you can't strike her. She's a neighboring child." Tuney said

He stopped and narrowed his beady little eyes.

"Right, we'll discuss this later boy." Vernon said

"Little girl, where do you belong." Tuney said

I thought about it before answering. 'I won't tell them I live across the street, they'll be on guard.'

"Wisteria Walk."

"Well, I suggest you find your way back there." Tuney said.

She looked back at Harry. His eyes pleading with me to leave. She sighed and walked out of their backyard. She looked back and horse-faced Tuney was watching her. She calmly walked toward Wisteria Walk.

'I know for a fact that whale man Vernon is going to beat him. I can't do much. Honestly me being there probably made it worst. I'll just have to catch him outside when they're not home. I will however tell mother'

Having a bit of a conflict. Should I do the entire series with Josie or should I just do a series of one shots where Josie comes in when Harry finds himself in a dilemma throughout the series. Let me know.
