"You got a cat?" Hal half asked half screamed, his eyes full of disbelief. Tom knew that if Hal was not chained to the chair because of his detox, he might be at his throat.
"Well ya see, Alex was gettin' lonely by herself all day, so we decided to get her some company" He explained as he held a cardboard box with multiple holes in it. At that moment Alex rentaghosted in looking triumphant.
"Yes Hal we got a cat. Mostly because you sir, are rubbish company" Alex said to Hal before turning towards Tom, "well, let 'er out"
"Oh, ya," Tom slowly opened the box then put it on the carpet. A slender black cat crept out.
"Wow guys cliché much?" Hal mumbled shaking his head
"Well I thought she was cute," Alex stated indignantly.
Tom decided to put in his own two cents "Truth be told, I wanted a dog, but Alex said…."
Hal interrupted him. "Alex said, Alex said, do you even have a brain of your own wolf boy? I doesn't seem so…"
"Hal!" Alex yelled shrilly "that was incredibly rude! I warned you, I really did I'm so sorry that I have to do this"
"Please Alex I'm sorry, I really am, don't do this, please!" Hal begged
"Hal nothing you say is going to get you out of this. The Twilight marathon begins in 10 minutes and you are going to watch all of it!"
The next day…..
"Well Alex, I got the cat settled in, litter pan, food bowl, the works." Tom said proudly
"Good job Tom. Now, what should we name her…?" Alex plopped down onto the sofa and the nameless black cat sat next to her and stared. "Hey guys! I think she can see me! That is so cool!"
"Fantastic, now do you think you could clean the cat piss off my shoe? That would be great." Hal grumbled.
Alex and Tom laughed in unison. Hal's mood became darker, which of course made Alex and tom laugh harder.
"I'll get it." Tom went off to the kitchen to get a damp cloth
"In all seriousness, what are we going to name the cat?" Alex said to no one in particular
"In all seriousness do you think I care?" Hal sneered,"Name the stupid thing whatever you want"
Alex sighed, she would name the cat something that would really get under Hal's skin, the only question is what would that be?
