This was written a while ago. I apologize in advance if the story doesn't make sense at some parts: I may have modernized it a little bit so that it could flow easier. Other parts may or may not be accurate because I'm not as heavily invested in this story (so characters may be OOC at times, sorry.) I'll try my best *^*
Enjoy!
The wind was roaring louder than the people in the stands. "Yuuta" was the last Japanese representative to speed down the ramp. "He" felt confident. Or rather he wasn't feeling as anxious as that other guy who freaked out and jumped a good 20 meters less than the rest of his team.
The green light suddenly lit up, and "Yuuta" took this opportunity to concentrate on his own jump and pushed off from his sitting position. Adrenaline flushed through his body as strong wind battered against his face. His legs were bent for the precise moment that would mark his victory.
Whoosh
"He" pushed off at the exact millisecond he'd practiced long hours for. His legs straightened with his arms at his side. His body leaned forward, creating a beautiful slight arc. Tilting his skis ever so slightly as he jumped, "Yuuta" caught the wind that gave him an extra boost into the air.
The people down in the stands hushed. "His" jump was outstanding, but incredulously high. It would be a miracle if he landed steadily on the ground, let alone telemark perfectly. But miracles do happen, and have happened (and probably will continue to happen) in his life.
Instincts kicked in, and he telemarked with what seemed like gentle ease.
The crowds roared, jumping to their feet, some clapping in celebration, some in simple outrage at such an amazing feat. This was a one in a lifetime jump for the spectators to remember.
As the "boy" settled to a stop, he ripped off his helmet and roared exuberantly back at the audience. Tears streamed down his face as he shook his fist, face radiating absolute bliss.
After wiping the tears of joys, "he" turned towards where his teammates were, smirking in delight. He pointed directly at a dark-haired brooding teammate, taunting him by the fact that he jumped well over 10 meters more than his rival.
You did it Nono! "He" thought to himself As he stared proudly at his team. You made Father's and Yuuta's dream come true.
