Lucy was sitting in the guild having lunch with Erza and Gray. The two of them had been telling her about the mission they had been on when Happy flew in. Landing on their table and mixing nachos with soup he exclaimed, "Natsu ran away!"

They all stood up out of their seats spilling their drinks and wrecking any food that was still edible. Erza was first to address the situation, "Are you sure Happy? What happened?"

Happy blubbered out, "He was acting weird all day and then he said he was leaving!"

Gray inquired, "Did he say where he was going?"

Happy shouted, "'If I knew that I'd go get him myself!" The poor cat looked horrible. The worry of his friend had made it an almost gray under his eyes.

Erza looked at Gray, Happy and Lucy, "Let's split up and look for him!"

"Got it!" they both answered.

****After hours of searching Lucy finds Natsu walking in the forest****

"NATSU!" Lucy ran as fast as she could to catch up to her friend. When she finally caught up to him she could see he was sad. Crying in fact. She stretched her arms as far as they would go and stepped in front of him. "Stop Natsu!" He simply walked around her.

This was starting to annoy Lucy. "Natsu! What's wrong? Please I'm your friend and I can't help you unless you tell me why you're so upset." Now they were in a clearing enclosed by huge trees that expanded on for miles. On the other side of the clearing was a giant cave.

Natsu stopped and then looked at Lucy, "Nothing." Then he proceeded to walk to the cave.

Lucy Yelled, "Natsu! Please don't be like this! What happene-" The two were inside the cave now. From the outside it had looked like a plain cave but on the inside it was truly incredible. Carvings and sketches were everywhere on the walls. Drawings from a detailed sun to a child's attempt at a people. All Lucy could do was mumble, "Natsu?"

Natsu fell to his knees. His voice was nothing higher than a whisper. "I used to live here. I thought if he would comeback today this is where he'd look for me."

Lucy got on the floor in front of her Pink haired friend and placed her hands on his wide shoulders. "Igneel?"

"Yeah, we used to celebrate today by going into town. It was the one day a year . . . . "Natsu cut himself off with tears. He was trying to hold them back but the force of his problem was too much.

Lucy pulled him into a hug hoping to drive away his sadness. "What's today Natsu?" Natsu didn't answer all he did was stand up, wiping the tears he smiled trying to make her believe he was fine. Lucy stood up and asked again. "Natsu, What is today?"

He looked at her then to the wall on his left. It had a picture of a dragon, a woman and a little baby. It looked as if it had been drawn by an amazing artist. He looked back at her and mumbled, "It's my birthday." Lucy was consumed in shock and guilt. Shock that it was his birthday and Guilt that she hadn't known. Had anyone known? How long had he been in the guild? After a moment he continued, "I didn't tell anyone because I've only ever celebrated with Igneel. It hasn't been a happy day since he left. I didn't want everyone trying to cheer me up. They'd mean well but I just wanna' wait for Igneel." Natsu smiled a sweet innocent smile that Lucy had to stare at so that she could in print it into her mind.

She smiled, "Okay. Would it be okay if I waited with you?"

Natsu nodded.

The two of them waited there until late at night and then they walked back to Lucy's house. It wans't long before Natsu and Lucy were fast asleep in her bed. He snuck in after she was asleep. When she woke though she didn't care that she was totally being violated by Natsu's hug. In the night she had been taken into a hug,
