Stumbling through the door of her penthouse apartment giggling the whole time trying and failing miserably at not tripping in her sky high heels, Caroline finally made it through her front door. Before she could even get her bearings she received a sharp elbow to the side from her partner in crime. Barging their way into her place was none other than her forever girl, Bekah. The two of them were inseparable and when they got together mischief, mayhem and maiming happened. In a lot of ways they were polar opposite but in most ways they were a lot alike it was scary. They were so close that they didn't even need words to communicate sometimes. Despite their long standing relationship the history between them was complicated at best and downright apocalyptic at worse. Not to mention that somewhere in between there was a level of toxic that over the years has caused them to drift apart and not speak for decades at a time. They didn't let any of that stop them from being the best of friends or from having their epic Girl's getaways/ weekends. They were legends and myths about the chaos the two of them have caused. Most of the supernatural world doesn't believe the stories good or bad about the beautiful blonde Barbie vampires and the destruction and ruin they have left in their wake. Only a very select few even knew for a fact that they exist and were not just some myth spun to tell some dirty jokes. Even less people could identify them on sight. When you have lived as long as they have there are very few things you don't see or do. Which is why they were constantly looking for new ways to entertain themselves, sometimes that got them into trouble but most times it just became another hilarious exploit that they stored in the memory bank. No one would guess monsters that lived within them or how much they enjoyed being monsters. To some people they were nightmares personified but to most who met them they were the unattainable woman who were bathed in mystery and intrigue and anyone who ignored the danger that rolled off them in waves surely deserved what ever happened to them.

That being said they both now are struggling to stop giggling and not falling flat on their faces. The two of them were coming in from a 3 night bender of drinking, dancing and debauchery at its finest. They were wrecked by their standards but to anyone else who would have seen them would just think they were going for the sexy slighty tousled bedroom look. Either way nothing about their current state took away from their breathtaking beauty.

"Fuck! Beks will you stop trying to run through me" the exasperated blonde yelled to her friend.

All she got in reply was an aggravated exhale and even though her back was turn she could hear her friend roll her eyes.

"Get off it Care!" Bekah exclaimed. In less than a second Caroline had whipped around so fast her long unruly curly hair was fallen around her face like a halo giving her an angelic glow, which could not be further from the truth. Once she faced her friend she gave her a glare that could freeze hell over but to the other blonde it was nothing more than a cute pout.

"What did you say Beks? You're moving like a bull in a china shop!" At that Rebekah couldn't help but burst into laughter which in turned caused Caroline to start laughing too. As they both laughed incessantly they stumbled further into Caroline's luxury penthouse.

It had the trapping of the modern era but with flair of personality and careful eye of design. It was the ultimate bachelorette pad and as it was it was one of Caroline's favorite properties. She loved New York; the sounds, the smell, the people, the shopping the restaurants and how the city actually vibrated and pulsed as if it were a living breathing thing. No Matter where she has travelled to or lived she always came back to New York. It was in her blood she just could never manage to stay away for more than a few decades. The further they walked in to the grand living room they kicked off shoes and started pulling off non essential clothing. They felt too constrained as was and needed the freedom less clothing afforded them. Once both felt more comfortable they settled into the media room where they were preparing for an Epic movie marathon. Despite the excessive drinking and over indulging of blood they still had the stamina for a movie marathon. Although they are vampires and old ones at that it takes a lot for them to even get a decent buzz let alone drunk. These were the moments they relished the most it wasn't as often as some might think that they got to spend quality girl bonding time. It was a constant struggle for them to balance the complications of their lives while maintaining the friendship and they didn't always succeed but no matter what they always came back together. This current reunion was long in the making and both had either flaked or cancelled over the years. Now that they finally managed to make it happen they felt stupid as to why it took them so long. No matter what other friendships they establish or who else comes into their lives they are both aware no one else will ever know them the way they do each other nor will anyone understand their dynamic. Being friends with either Caroline or Rebekah wasn't easy nor was a small task to accomplish but once you achieved that coveted role it was a lifelong commitment not even death was an excuse. Not knowing that in that exact moment across the Atlantic Ocean Caroline was at the center of thoughts of a man she could never truly escape from, nor did she want to. The man who changed her life so long ago she could barely remember her life prior to him.

There she was forever immortalized in all her eternal glory. Perfectly preserved as the last time he saw her. The portrait was an incredible likeness to her and captured the glint of wicked amusement in her eyes and devilish dimple in her right cheek. It was not in any way a substitute for the real thing. From the painting one couldn't tell that she always smelled of gardenias and honey, or that when the wind blew just right her hair gave off a slight smell of jasmine. She was quick to smile and laugh and her temper was even quicker. She was everything a proper young lady should be at least on the surface but those privileged enough to know her knew she was quite the contradiction of what was expected of a proper lady. She loved being barefoot and ran around in the rain and snuck off to swim in the lake whenever she could. She loved the arts and would drag all her friends to the latest show. Most of all she loved music and anything to do with singing or playing the piano. Her two greatest talents were what brought her to the attention of this mysterious man. One who would change her life in a way she could never see coming nor could anyone save her from it. As it turns out it was her destiny to cross paths with this man and forever be linked in a supernatural tango that she could never be free from. How two people so obviously fated to be together could never actually get themselves together in a union that would test time itself. The man tried to remember how the events that lead to the inevitable coupling came to be. The stars had aligned and so many chips had fallen into the right space for them to be together. He knew at the time that he would destroy her, snuff the light and specialness right out of her. What he didn't know was that she was would wreck him equally right back. Doomed they were but never had he been so happy nor had ever experience a greater more passionate love. Despite everything she loved him right back just as fiercely as her loved her, but in the end it could not stop certain events that were to come. With that last thought the man let his mind wonder to a time and place long ago but never forgotten, the time that changed everything. Now of course their beginning started with out him actually being aware of it. It would be many years later when one night laid in his love's arms did she finally tell him how their great love started at least for her. He had always assumed that this was just an arranged marriage by her parents that happened to work out, nothing could be further from truth. It was not until his love told him her perspective and how she schemed and plotted her way into his life. She told him in no uncertain terms with all the nobility haughtiness she could muster that she saw him, she wanted him then she decided to let herself have him and that he was just smart enough to het in her way. He had laughed long and hard about that gathered her in his strong arms and kissed the wicked smile right off her face. Then they both dissolved into a uproarious laughter that neither could contain. With a deep sigh the man tried to remember that night and how she told her side of the story. It took a minute but finally he could remember that night clearly and he lost himself in that memory.

Lady Caroline Forbes was many things but a pushover even during those modest times it was never her style. She was a girl of nine and ten and it was time for her to find a husband, only problem with that was for her finding a husband was the last thing she wanted or needed. A husband would only slow her down and stand in her way. She had many ideas and plans for her life none of which included a husband at least not for many more years. And although she did love children she wasn't dying to have any, especially without a husband by her side or even site. Now Lady Caroline did not agree with a lot of the traditions of the time or the archaic notion that a woman needed a man to take care of her, but even she would admit that every child needs a mother and father. Since she grew up with a loving mother and a doting father she would want nothing less for her own child. She was just wise enough to know that at this moment in her life that was far from a priority. Now at nineteen years old Lady Caroline should have been married or at least engaged already. She has received numerous offers from Counts, Earls and Dukes and even a viscount and baron. Most of the men who proposed were completely unsuitable and neither she nor her parents took those offers to heart. There were some that were very desirable at least to her parents and then one or two who were good looking enough that they could almost make her break her vow of only marrying for love. Lady Caroline never felt intense pressure from her parents to marry since her Father was fabulously wealthy, and her mother came from old money. Due to the family being financially stable it afforded Caroline the time she desperately wanted to pursue other things. What Caroline did not know nor could she for see coming was that she would not live past her twentieth year. As it stood she was currently living on borrowed time. Since Caroline was not one to sit around waiting for life to happen to her she was on a mission to find one last great adventure before she was tied down to some man.

Even though Caroline had no idea what her fate would be she knew that there was no way she could escape the summer season without becoming engaged to someone. She had eluded that trap for as long as she could but even she could see that her parents were growing weary of her tactics. They seemed more determined than ever to make a suitable match for the spirited yet charming daughter. She was after all the light of their lives and no matter what they wanted to see her happy and settled. Caroline was lucky enough to have parents who truly loved her and weren't willing to sacrifice her chance at love and happiness for their own gain. So imagine their surprise when it was least expected that Lady Caroline would find herself not one but two admirers both of whom she had to give second and third looks too.

Lady Caroline was never one to look a gift horse in its mouth so when the opportunity came for her to have an adventure she took it. The chance to perform live in front of an audience was a lifelong dream of hers. An even though she was a high born and did not need to earn a living she wanted so badly to perform in front of a crowd that was not her family or friends or business associates of her father. She was selected to be one of three young ladies who got to perform at the annual festival of lights at the end of summer. Caroline couldn't wait until it was time to perform, she just knew that would be her moment to shine and shine she would.

All for nothing Caroline was not going to sit around and just let whatever time she had left as a unwed young woman pass her by. Oh no if she had to go down she would go down that road in Epic glory. This was going to be her year of fun nothing was going to make her miss this time with her friends or stop spending time doing things she enjoyed even if they frowned upon by high society. One last taste of true freedom and then she would do it. She would settle down and be everything a proper young lady should be. How hard could it be to pretend to be everything society thought she should be? With a determined nod to herself Caroline decided yes in fact she would do just that.

Little did Caroline know that all that planning and scheming and willful determination would be for naught, yes she would get her moment at the festival but would that be her last great moment? In fact her fate was days from being sealed in ways she could never imagine. First thing first she would meet a man that was everything her parents wanted for her and more. The big surprise with that is Caroline herself was instantly smitten with him. He was extremely wealthy from old money. Business tycoon of his own making and it didn't hurt that he was very handsome with impeccable manners and a stern brow but with a mysterious glint in his eye that said there was more to him than meets the eye. Caroline being the curious spirit she is was determined to find out just what his secret is and if his lips were as kissable as they looked. Might as well find that out if she were going to be digging up his secrets why not something she could enjoy and benefit from? Oh yes this was going to be the best summer of her life one she just knew she would never forget. Lady Caroline's thoughts as she went to bed that night was that of her mysterious man. He was going to be her latest project and he didn't stand a chance against her. Not when she was trying to figure out . Besides she needed every excuse she could get to spend time with him to figure out what the mystery is. A Man of his stature and accomplishments still single didn'dt seem right. Something was wrong and before she agreed to anything she was going to find out. With that thought Caroline slowly drifted off to sleep with a playful smile on her face. Elijah Mikealson wouldn't know what hit him which Caroline was counting on. Something told her it would take all her wit, charm and determination to get the best of Elijah. Look out world Lady Caroline Forbes was now a woman on a mission heaven help anyone who got in her way.
