And I wanna wake up with the rain

Falling on a tin roof

While I'm safe there in your arms

-Norah Jones, Come Away With Me

It was another rainy day in the city of Portland, Oregon. Drops of water fell soft upon the roof tops, their soft melodic tap nothing more than calm and peaceful. The sky was a dull grey, thick cottony clouds covering every inch of it. Shoppers were scarce on the sidewalks; everyone huddled inside somewhere warm and dry. But not even a little drop of rain could stop Monroe from seeing the love of his life.

The bells above the spice-shop door tinkled as Rosalee sat staring at her book. She looked up to see a sweater clad Monroe standing in the doorway, black umbrella in hand. She smiled as he shook off the bit of rain that had fallen on him. It was so cute how puppy like the grown man could be at times. His sienna eyes gazed tenderly at her from across the room, and she stood to greet him.

"Hey mister big bad wolf." She chuckled as she placed a soft kiss on Monroe's cheek. The soft scratch of his beard made her lips tingle with delight.

"Hey yourself, my little fox." Monroe said, twirling a lock of Rosalee's chestnut hair around his finger.

"Hope you didn't get too drenched out there. That rain's been coming down all day." Rosalee wrapped her arms over his shoulders, gazing closer into his beautiful eyes that seemed to glow in the dim light of the shop.

"It's worth it if I get to come see you." Monroe leaned in and kissed her nose. "I'd stand around through a gallon of rain just to see that smile." He said, placing a tender hand on her cheek. He gazed down into Rosalee's beautiful hazel eyes, as they glittered and shone in the light.

Rosalee couldn't help but smile as she leaned forward and kissed Monroe. He always knew just what to say to make her melt. He had such a way with words. The kiss soon went from slow and docile to passionate and full. A warmth settled over the two as they moved as close as physically possible to each other. Finally, they pulled away, both gazing lovingly into each other's eyes.

"Sorry the rain ruined our picnic." Monroe said between breaths.

"It's okay. At least I can still spend the day with you." Rosalee beamed, matching the smile on the Blutbad's face.

"I like the sound of that. How's about we set down and eat lunch here?"

"I like that idea a lot."
