Chapter One
Rolling over on the white crumpled sheets, Calleigh threw her leg over Horatio's and snuggled her body into the crook of his arm. Her head resting on his shoulder, she closed her eyes and waited for him to wake up. Her loose arm slid across his chest, as she reached up to stroke his pillow-tousled hair.
"You're killing me, Horatio. I need to sleep. Hell, you need to sleep." She whispered into his chest. Waking up to the words breathed across his skin, Horatio chuckled.
"Horatio, seriously, people are starting to talk at work"
"What about?" He finally forced his eyes open enough to squint down at her.
"Oh, not much really... just how they can never find us or when they do we're always glued together!"
"What do they think? That we keep sneaking off to the broom cupboard?" He raised an eyebrow, quizzically
"We do keep sneaking off to the broom cupboard, Horatio!" The slap across his chest punctuating her sentence.
"Horatio, for God's sake! Look at us!" Pausing, she propped herself up on her elbow, waiting for it to sink in.
"Apart from the fact we both look like death warmed up, you are walking around with a smile on your face that would put the Cheshire cat to shame, - what do you think I'm saying?"
"You mean some of them haven't seen the CCTV tape yet?"
Calleigh blushed furiously at the memory, then glared at him.
"Horatio Caine, I swear, if I didn't know you better, I'd say you forgot on purpose!"
"I seem to recall, that it was you, that made us late for work"
"I didn't hear you complaining, you moaned a..." He cut her off with his lips as his fingers wrapped into her hair. Pinning her down with his weight, he rolled her onto her back. Breaking away, he lifted his head and stared intently down into her eyes.
"Oh Lord, Horatio, I'll be late for work."
"Don't worry, I'll write you a note..."
