The Wedding Of Her Dreams
Lady Jaye smiled as she adjusted the Japanese wedding dress a bit before turning to Aika, who smiled up at her. "Are you ready, honey?" She asked.
"I'm ready, Mommy," said Aika.
Lady Jaye smiled as she picked up her cherry blossom bouquet. It was her and Snake Eyes' wedding day and she was looking forward to finally being married to him. "Okay, honey. When you hear the music play your part, you move slowly and don't forget to drop the flower petals as you do so," she reminded her future daughter gently.
The six-year-old nodded. "Okay, Mommy," she said as they heard the music playing.
Jaye smiled as she thought back about how she had first met Snake Eyes, how he intrigued her, and she remembered when he proposed to her.
She smiled. She and Aika had been slowly getting Snake Eyes to admit that he liked Lady Jaye for quite a few months before he finally admitted it. She and the little girl had promptly tackled him when he admitted his feelings and it was a wonder he didn't lose his face mask from all the kisses she had given him.
When he had proposed to her, he had lifted his mask up a little to reveal his mouth in time to receive a huge kiss from her and how he managed to keep it on as she had kissed him like crazy was again beyond her.
Now, she looked at herself in the mirror and saw the lovely, floor length Japanese wedding dress that Snake Eyes had given her for their wedding day. She had wanted to try it on, but he had insisted that she try it on when he wasn't there.
"I want to be stunned on our wedding day, my love," He had signed to her. "I won't be able to take my eyes off you."
She had giggled, but promised that she'd try it on later. "When I walk down the aisle, I'll probably knock your mask off you'll be so stunned," she teased him.
"I wouldn't be surprised if you did," He teased back.
Aika had come in and squealed happily when Snake Eyes showed her the dress she'd be wearing as the flower girl. "I love it, Daddy!" She had said, hugging her father and mother happily.
Jaye now adjusted the bow in Aika's hair. "That's better," she said with a smile.
The little girl looked up at her with a huge grin before peeking out into the huge church room. "Here comes Uncle Duke," she said.
Duke came out and looked at them. "Wow," he said with a smile. "You're really going to knock Snake's mask off, Lady Jaye."
She laughed a bit. "I hope so," she said. "How is he?"
"Believe it or not, he's very nervous right now," said Duke. "I'm not kidding."
"Daddy's nervous?" Aika asked. "But, why would he be nervous?"
"Well, this is a big step for him, kiddo," Duke said gently. "This is something he's probably never done before."
Aika looked thoughtful. "But…this isn't as scary as one of his mission," she pointed out.
Lady Jaye and Duke both smiled. "Well…," Duke said for a moment and then smiled. "You know how you feel a bit nervous when your father shows you a new kata?"
Aika cocked her head to the side. "Yes," she said. "Because I want to do it right the first time, but I always mess up."
"And that's okay," her uncle said kindly. "Not everyone gets it right the first time."
"Because practice buildings up experience," said Lady Jaye. "Even your uncle Duke's and my first missions didn't go as well as we wanted, but we learned as we went on more missions."
"And we still get nervous from time to time," said Duke. "Well, that's how your dad is feeling now. And he's constantly scanning the room, looking for Cobra infiltrators."
"But everyone in there is a Joe," said Lady Jaye. "And guards are everywhere."
"True," said Tunnel Rat, coming out. "But you know Snake Eyes. He's super protective of you and Aika, Lady Jaye."
"Very true," she said and they heard the music start to play. "Well, here we go."
Tunnel Rat slipped quietly inside and took his seat beside Roadblock as Aika began walking up the aisle gracefully, dropping the rose petals. When she reached the front of the church, her father gestured her over to him and she went up to him, standing by him with a smile on her face as he gently squeezed her shoulder to let her know she did a great job and how proud he was of her.
Then, everyone turned to look as Duke walked Lady Jaye down the aisle and Snake Eyes' eyes, although they were hidden by his mask, were on her and she knew it.
"Doesn't Mommy look a queen, Daddy?" Aika whispered in a low voice to him.
He nodded slowly as Ripcord, who was the ring bearer, smiled at the little girl's question. "I think your mom is the most beautiful queen I've ever seen," he whispered. "Your daddy is a very lucky man, kiddo."
Aika quietly giggled and Snake Eyes nodded in agreement to Ripcord as Duke and Lady Jaye made it to the priest performing the ceremony and Duke handed Jaye hand gently to Snake Eyes and nodded, stepping back to his spot by Ripcord and Aika.
The ritual didn't take long and Snake Eyes was gazing at Lady Jaye the whole time. When the priest ended his speech, Aika piped up. "Kiss Mommy, Daddy!" She said loud and clear.
Amused laughter gently rippled through the room and Scarlett lifted Aika up into her arms so that the little girl could see her mother and father kiss.
Lady Jaye didn't heard the cheering of the crowd as she gazed at her husband, who gazed back at her with love as he held her close and she sighed contently, happier than she had ever been in her whole life.
