She spotted her headphones and Ipod on her dresser. She looked left and right, already knowing no one was there, but was making sure.
Marti quickly went to get her Ipod and put the headphones in, scrolling through her songs.
Marti noticed a song she hadn't listened to in a long time. "Simple Enough, by Nevershoutnever, huh? Sounds good." She selected the song.
'If I was a sailor I'd sail the seven seas
She remembered the song now, so she started to sing along.
'To tell you "baby I don't want you to leave"
You see this world is such a sad place'
Marti grabbed a brush and started to sing into it.
'And without your pretty face I'm sure its gonna wind up much worse'
Marti plopped down on her bed, still singing into her brush.
'And I know that you'll see someday that I can't live without you And I know what I say is true cause I'm still stuck on you girl'
Savannah was about to open the door when she heard someone singing in her room. 'Wonder who's singing' She thought. "I'll listen." She said to herself quietly.
'I'm in love from the first time I laid my eyes on you A-shoo-do-do-do-do-do there's nothing I can do And I'm in love from the first time I laid my lips on yours Now you're walking out my door And there's nothing I can do'
It hit Savannah like a brick wall, Marti was singing! She smacked herself mentally.
'And if I could explore the world I'd bring you along We'd go from New York to Timbuktu But truly I am set right here at Denny's Drinking coffee and sharing a cigarette'
'Marti sings so... Beautifully.' Savannah thought happily. 'Wonder who she's singing about.'
'And I know that you'll see someday that I can't live without you And I know what I say is true cause I'm so stuck on you girl'
Marti smiled to herself, she loved this song.
'I'm in love from the first time I laid my eyes on you A-shoo-do-do-do-do-do there's nothing I can do And I'm in love from the first time I laid my lips on yours Now you're walking out my door And there's nothing I can do'
Exactly when Marti stopped, Savannah walked in casually. "Your voice is beautiful." Savannah covered her mouth quickly.
"Uh... Thanks, Savannah?" Marti scratched her head, flushing. "Who were you singing about?" Savannah questioned.
"Someone..." Marti quickly said. "And who might that someone be?" Savannah walked over to Marti, sitting beside on her bed. "Someone that probably doesn't like me back" She sighed. "She's on our squad."
"Would that someone... Happen to be me?" Savannah raised an eyebrow.
Marti flushed harder. "A...Ye..Yeah..." Marti stuttered. "Well, that someone liked you back." Marti said playfully, winking at Marti. Savannah couldn't believe what she was saying, but it was true somehow.
"Re...Really?" Marti beamed. "Yes." Savannah giggled.
Marti pulled Savannah into her lap, their noses almost touching. "You know what Marti?" Savannah pushed some hair behind Marti's ear.
"What?" Marti tilted her head cutely. "You're like a giant teddy bear after you get to know you." Savannah chuckled.
"Hmph." Marti pouted. "You're so cute when you pout!" Savannah smiled. "Savannnnahhh!" Marti flushed.
Savannah moved her face closer to Marti's, kissing her fiercely.
After awhile Marti and Savannah had to take a breath. "I love you, Savannah Monroe." Marti chuckled.
"I love you too, Marti Perkins." Savannah said breathlessly.
