Eyes

She hated her eyes.
Kushieda Minori was a person who never wished to dwell on dark feelings, and thus her radiance protected her from it.
Her upbeat smile masked her pain, her cheerful laugh shielded her sorrow, her energetic behavior protected her from her hatred, and her bright eyes veiled her fear.
But it didn't matter when she felt those indigo eyes on her. She tried to ignore them, forget and live on, like she always had. Forget the darkness and remember the light. But those beautiful eyes knew her every intention, her every thought and they could see the darkness pooling within, something that no one was ever suppose to see. It was so hard to forget when someone else could remember for you.
She could run, run away like she's always tried to run, but those eyes would find her. Those night sky eyes whose darkness reminded Minori of her own.
She really did hate Kawashima Ami's eyes.
She loved her eyes.
Kawashima Ami was not a person who loved easily. After all to love someone is to hope to be loved in return. And to be loved in return involves sharing all of oneself with another, something that she didn't think she was ready to do. Her true self was something she had long covered up with makeup and pretty words.
But she really did love those eyes of hers. Those pink eyes that tried so hard to shine amid the darkness, and failed. But she didn't mind, for that was what made them so easy to love.
Her eyes held pink roses, gently withering at the edges.
There were those whose eyes brightened intensively, reflecting how perfectly positive they are. Those types of people were hard for her to stomach, because they were in essence an imperfection. No one could be that happy, that nice. Even Kitamura Yuusuke, her long time friend, was not completely happy and not completely generous. So when she saw the darkly shaded light within her eyes, Ami knew she was glancing upon her true self.
But it really did irritate her that she would never look at her straight in the eyes. She longed to glimpse at those eyes of hers but they always escaped her. A trail of pink, flashing by was all she could see. How frustrating it was!
But still....
She really did love Kushieda Minori's eyes.
