If any of you were wondering what in the heck that poll was about... Well, it was to choose my pairing for a 52-prompt challenge I created myself. Tseng/Reno was my winner, so this is the first in a series of Tseng/Reno fics!

Phone Tag

Fandom: Final Fantasy VII

Teaser: "Reno, I believe we've had words about you drugging your partner."

Inspiration: The prompt for "SinsofMidnight's Writers Challenge" was Tweet.

Rating:K+, surprisingly. I've never written anything with a rating so low .

Warnings:
-Illness
-Mentions of drugging someone
-Not thinking things through
-Lazy Reno

Main Pairing:(hints of) Tseng/Reno

Minor Pairings: N/A

Setting:It's in-universe (for once). Just an average day with the Turks, I guess.

POV: Reno and Tseng, in a series of seven phone messages. They alternate a little, but you should be able to tell whose is whose... It gets a bit confusing at the end, because the last two are from the same character.

Summary: It's surprising that the Turks don't get tired of leave voice-mail messages for each other.

Additional ANs: The details of this particular prompt specified that I had to tell a story in a series of seven parts with 140 characters or less, the same number you can use in a tweet on Twitter.
I've got a fascination with what I like to call "Voice-Mail Tag". It's shown up in another of my stories ("Worth Fighting For", an AU Star Ocean III fic) and it added some amusement to the tail. When I thought about the prompt, short voice-mails or text messages seemed the only way to go.

Word Count: 139 words. I hope the story flows okay... x.x

"Uh, boss? I think Rude might be sick, yo... He doesn't look so hot right now. Call me back when you get this."

"Reno, I believe we've had words about you drugging your partner. What did I tell you about doing that?"

"Uh... not to? But seriously, he's really sick and it's not my fault this time, I promise!"

"If he's really that ill, take him to see Professor Hojo, Red. It's not rocket science."

"No way! Seriously, boss: do you want Hojo to experiment on Rude? Because I've heard him mutterin' about wantin' a new test subject..."

"No, we don't want that. I'd have to explain what happened... Well, then, use Cure on him!"

"Taking into consideration the fact I can see the pile of paperwork on your desk from inside my office, I'll see you soon, Red..."

Yeah, it's really short... but that's one of the prompts!

I hope that the story comes across okay... I mean, I tried to make it blatant...

Let me know how you liked it!

Ever at your pleasure,
~Sins~
