Chapter One
The work programme
"Wake up Daddy, its Saturday" shouted Grace Morgan with so much enthusiasm, Carter jumped in such a shock his left foot slipped out of his bed onto a fluffy teddy bear his daughter had brought it with her.
"Sorry Gracie, I'm only here for a while today" he yawned.
Brail Corp had organised a work programme for the ground shop workers to attend for the weekend to help boost motivation and confidence skills in the outside world, to interact better with customers as well as clients.
Carter had not been told of the location, due to it being a retreat of sorts in one of those places in the woods. He only hoped there would be no fishing, as he couldn't stand it or have the patience. The only thing carter had known was the time of the coach that would be leaving Brail Corp which was at 3pm. So he had a little bit of time with his daughter, who would be staying at his parents house later while he was away.
Carter was 17 years old when his girlfriend fell pregnant and he struggled to come to terms with the pregnancy especially when he found out on the day of his exams. All Carter could think about during the exams was if he could be able to provide for her as well as live up to expectations of his girlfriends father.
Even after the birth Carter struggled until finally getting a job at Brail Corp as a warehouse associate before working his way up to a Tier 3 Team Lead which he excelled at but one night Carters dreams of a happy family was extinguished when his girlfriend Lara died due to a brain haemorrhage leaving him with Grace and since then he has doted on her.
After Carter had got dressed into his work gear and walked down the stairs he gave Grace a kiss and asked her to get into the car. Carter drove past his old school as he dropped Grace off at his parents house and carried onto work, giving his little girl a kiss before he left.
When he arrived onto the near empty Car park he could see that the coach was already waiting, and a few colleagues, was already on board. Carter parked his Ford Fiesta and slowly climbed out.
What a wonderful day he fought. As he went to the rear of his ford taking out his work bag before climbing aboard the Blue Coach.
He could see the quite Laura Roberts reading a book near the front of the coach . "What you reading Laura" Carter asked in a friendly manor
"Lord of the flies, it's a magnificent read, Jack is currently scheming against Ralph" she said in a grin as she watched Carter head towards the rear of the Coach.
Slowly the coach began to fill up with the slackers Carlos and Ricardo climbing on board, as well as the giant Hubert. All carter could think was to go asleep
Carter woke up to a factory office, no a classroom, " what where am I"
He heard a beep and a scream behind him
