Summary: Janeway muses with her lover on the turn of events that was the Admiral.

Disclaimer: I do not own them. At all.

"You know, I really appreciate what the Admiral did." Janeway spoke quietly as she looked out her quarter windows at Earth.

"And I cannot tell you how much I adore being able to see Earth again. I kept my promise to the crew. I got them back home. We're going home."

Pale arms slipped around her waist.

"But?"

Janeway sighed heavily. "That's just it. There shouldn't be a 'but'."

"Whether there should be a 'but' or not is irrelevant. There clearly is one; I know you Kathryn, what worries you?"

Kathryn twisted her fingers with her lover's. She stood silently, staring at Earth, knowing her partner wouldn't interrupt her. That woman had amazing patience.

"I worry about those of my crew that aren't Starfleet. The ex-Marquis. Neelix. And you dear. You more than anyone."

"I am an ex-borg drone who has embraced her humanity. I am human."

Seven kissed the top of Janeway's head. "You do not need to worry about me."

"I know who and what you are. The crew knows who and what you are. But I don't know if Starfleet will see you; or if they will only see an ex-drone."

Seven gently squeezed Kathryn's hands. She gazed at Earth. It was meant to be her home. She was born there, yet Seven felt no familiarity to it. Her home was on Voyager; or more precisely; her home was in her arms. Where ever Kathryn was would be her home.

"Og Mandino was an author in the 1990s. He once said 'I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars.' Do not forget about the stars, Kathryn. You so love the stars. No matter what happens, I will always love you, and I will always come back to you. You are more than a star; you are my sun."
