The Darker Side

He looked down at his hand, the gold band sitting sweetly, innocently, on his finger. It represents many things. Regret. Regret for not saying the three simple, yet extremely deep meaning words sooner. Hate. Hate, for himself for not being open to her love and kindness. And of course, love. Love for the woman who stole his heart. Well, at least some of it. But, mostly it represented marriage. Marriage to his bride of seven months, three weeks, four hours. He kept track. Seeing how long it would take for her to come back to him since the news of his special day.

Now, he loved his wife, with all of his heart. But, that was the problem. Most of his heart was taken by her. He called her the one. Too bad she called him the one… that broke her heart. Seven months ago he called her said he was taking the step to put her in his past for good. She was happy. And no, it didn't sound like false happiness either. He almost told her he was lying. That he was just playing a cruel joke on her. He would then hear a sigh of relief and she would admit that she missed him, and come back to him. But, he stopped himself. He knew that would be a fantasy.

A knock at the door brought him out of his thoughts. As he got up to answer, he instinctively looked at the clock. "Seven months, three weeks, five and half hours." He opened the door, and she immediately pushed him aside to step in the large apartment. "Rory?" He stated, more than he asked, like he was expecting her. He barely had time to shut the door before she shoved him against it, and smashed her lips to his. Just as she opened her mouth for him to gain access and their tongues barely touched she pulled away.

"Hi, Jess. Where is she?" She impatiently questioned. "Kiss first, ask later, huh?" She just glared at him wiping his brilliant smirk off his face into a semi-serious look. Partly disappointed. "Not here" he finally answered. She smiled. "When is she coming back?" He was getting frustrated with her questions. He just wanted her to say she loved him, and hold her in his arms. "I don't know, and hour, I guess." He sighed. She started taking her shirt as she walked to his bedroom. "That's plenty of time." She half yelled over her shoulder. Just as she was taking her pants off, she disappeared into the darkness of his room. When he hesitated, she popped her head around the door frame. "You coming?" She asked, slightly confused.

A/N: Bahahahaha. Tell me what you think. Will Jess actually gain a conscience and tell her to leave, or will follow her in the bedroom? R/R Please and thank you. )
