Once Upon A Wanted Poster
Colosseumshipping (Wes x Rui)
Wes didn't talk much.
Rui didn't know if it was a personal endeavor or if he really just didn't have too much to say. She didn't question it though. She thought of him as a silent, handsome, mysterious man. One that woman would usually throw themselves at. (Lucky, she didn't have too.) So she was far past surprised with what he had just said.
She hadn't really expected him to say anything when they saw it. It hanging on the bulletin board in the main room of the pokemon center. And even if he had said something, she thought it might be along the lines of 'shit' or 'we need to leave. . . now.' And than he'd drag her behind him as they made their way out of town courtesy some secret little hole only Wes seemed to know existed. Those were things she had come to expect from Wes in situations that could potentially be bad. After all, they were both running away from people, stealing pokemon. . . and even if they were shadow pokemon, it was still a crime. But no, Rui was learning that Wes was just a happy little bundle of surprises.
She looked up and over to Wes, who was standing beside her, a small grin plastered on his face.
Those were pretty rare, too now that she thought about it. His face was usually pretty, and like stone. Rui figured she could count the number of expressions she'd ever seen him use on two hands.
He looked over and their eyes met for a moment. She wondered if her ears were playing a trick on her. They sometimes did that when she forgot what Wes' voice sounded like, after he hadn't talked for an abnormally long time. Who could blame her? The sound of his voice was comforting. . . and maybe just a little hot.
"What?" She asked. Wes turned to her and grinned, turning back to the poster. The 'Wanted' poster. Right smack center in the middle of the board. With it's bold black letters, and large picture of him. All the other fliers might as well have been non-existent.
She waited a moment and tried to strain her ears just to make sure what she was about to hear was what he had actually said, and not a figment of her imagination, and not something she had misheard.
"I said," and he turned for some kind of effect Rui assumed he was trying to get "I look pretty sexy on a wanted poster."
There were a few moments of silence, followed by understanding slowly making traces across Rui's face.
"Oh." Her mouth didn't leave the 'o' shape for a few moments, and then a large smiled crossed her features and she started laughing. Wes smirked at the reaction and led the way out the door, but not before ripping the poster off the wall.
"I'm never going to fully understand you am I?" She smiled, beside Wes in a second.
Umbreon came up and grabbed the flier out of his hand, jumping and running off with it
"Probably not." Wes shrugged simply.
Originally, this was suppose to be another attempt at Contestshipping, but I'm not really one for AU (Author Universe) so. . . I traded out the pairing for one more suitable. . . I liked the idea of someone being arrogant of their picture on a wanted poster :P I know, lame. . . and Drew seemed like SUCH a good match. . . maybe I'll try it with both. . . if you'd like me to, TELL ME! I never like to disappoint.
Anyway, please review! And thank you for reading :)
