WELCOME TO SUMMONER'S RIFT!

Diana POV

After we were summoned onto the rift, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I had hoped that would've helped me be prepared for my match. However that was thrown out of the window when i smelt the foulest stench i have ever smelled.

I pinched my nose and looked in disgust at this green rat named Twitch. Unfortunately he was going to be our carry for this match. I had wished that it was someone who didn't smell like death itself.

Turning my head to at the person next to him was a floating blonde woman named Janna. She was the support and a very useful comrade. She as well had a face of discomfort from the disgusting rat that was next to her. I felt bad for her.

I looked to see our jungler at the shopkeeper getting his items. He was a giant lion humanoid that was one of the most ferocious beings in existence. His name was Rengar the Pridestalker. He lives up to his title and I know from experience what he can do with this blades.

I shook my head as i remembered the memories of fighting him in the past. I turned to see my final teammate and my mood soured worse than when i smelled Twitch. One of the last people i wanted to see was this man here. Pantheon, of the Rakkor Tribe.

He seemed to have noticed me staring at him and sneered. I felt my temper rise and i knew a confrontation would not be avoidable.

"You know... i wonder what it would look like seeing you skewered on my spear?" He said menacingly. He twirled his spear as he waited for his items, but he did not once take his stare off of me.

Rengar let out a chuckle as he headed out to the jungle. Janna gave me a worried look and followed after Rengar once she got her items. Twitch dug into his coat pocket and handed me what looked like dark green cheese.

"Would you like some cheese?" He said. I felt vomit was going to surface when i looked at his so called snack. I just shook my head and turned away from him. "Suit yourself," he said as he walked towards the jungle to help leash.

I collected my items and got myself ready for lane. When i was about to depart, Pantheon shouted out to me once more.

"You can't run forever heretic! Eventually your blood will be spilled. I can't wait until that day." He said with a laugh that haunted me. He ran towards top afterwards to get ready for the lane phase.

I stood there thinking about what he just told me. Has it been that long? He was right there's only so much more i can do before i get trapped in a corner and they get me. I so was busy in thought i didn't realize that the minions started to spawn.

"DIANA YOU GOT TO MAKE IT TO LANE HURRY!" My summoner yelled in my mind. This girl was very obnoxious, but she was a good friend. She was definitely one of the few i trusted.

"Sorry Angel, you know how i get when i face either him or Leona." I said with with a nervous laugh.

"I know Diana, but we can worry about that later. You're up against Zed. It's going to be a tough one, but i know we can do it!" She quipped. She was so happy, i wish i had that type of happiness.

15 minutes had passed and I was ahead of Zed in creep kills. I had to block a few shuriken he had thrown at me, but neither of us had actually tried to fight the other fully. He was silent and didn't say a word the entire lane.

"He's been quiet this entire time Angel." I told the girl in my head. She didn't respond at first and I assumed she was talking to her teammates. I swung my crescent blade down to finish a cannon minion and that's when i saw a blur.

I had felt my body get tangled by bandages and i went wide eyed. "Angel we need -" I started but it was too late however. The little mummy named Amumu was already on top of me and he sent magic through the ground and more bandages wrapped around me.

I heard a laugh and see Zed slash me and surround me with three shadows. I let out a pained scream as the shurikens hit me in vital areas and a giant gash appeared on my stomach. I collapsed on the ground and a pool of blood started to form around me. It even stained my white hair. I tried to crawl back to my tower, but i knew that death was inevitable.

Zed had put a foot on my back to stop me from moving. I turned my head to see he was staring into my soul with them red eyes. "Can't expect to stay on the run when you let your guard down." He said in a mocking tone. Did he know of me? I had hope not. Last thing i needed was more assassins after me.

"Diana i am so sorry, i got distracted with talking to another summoner i didn't hear them warn me about Amumu was ganking." Angel apologized. She felt ashamed that she did that and got me killed.

As I took my final breaths, I seen Rengar appear from a bush and send his blade through Zed's neck. He made quick work of him and then threw a net on Amumu. He finished him quickly too.

I respawned and put a hand on my stomach. Even though the deaths are real as day, being healed of any wound or poison is a blessing in the rift.

"Hey Angel, is there anywhere we can roam to help?" I asked as I got more items to help my magic.

"Actually there is, but i don't think you want to do that. Pantheon could use some help against Jax" She replied. My hopes dropped and I knew that would be a bad idea. However, in the League personal grudges weren't allowed here.

I swallowed my pride and ran top to go help this barbarian. If only i knew what i was getting myself into.

Normal POV

Pantheon brought his shield up to block the attacks from Jax lantern. He would forever be amazed that he could use any weapon he desired, but instead a lantern was his go to.

"Show me what you got, don't be afraid to fight me. Aren't you like the ultimate warrior?" Jax taunted as he kept pressuring Pantheon. He growled at the man and kept his defense up.

He turned his head when he noticed that the heretic was coming to gank. 'What is this useless bitch going to do?' He thought as he got ready to jump on Jax.

Diana swung her crescent blade in an arc and sent moonlight at Jax. He noticed what was about to happen and started twirling his lantern. Diana rushed him in a blink of an eye and kicked him in the stomach. Pantheon jumped and bashed Jax with his shield, momentarily stunning him.

Jax flashed out before he could be killed and ran towards his tower. Pantheon flashed and ran after him to finish him off. Diana was about to run back to lane when she brought her blade up to block a shuriken.

"This guy is very persistent today Angel." Diana said to her summoner. She made sure to pay attention to any details that may be the end of her life this time.

"He is, Pantheon secured the kill on Jax and is waiting on the minion wave to help get the tower. Let's clear them out and head back to lane." Angel said.

"Sounds-" Diana didn't finish as she blocked a blade that was aimed for her throat. Diana covered herself in moonlight, but it was too late as Zed already had already placed his mark. A seal appeared on Diana and next thing she knew she had cuts all over her.

She swung moonlight at him and rushed him to fight back. Angel casted ignite and that helped significantly. However he switched to one of his other shadows and they both threw shurikens at Diana.

She groaned as she knelt down on one knee. She seen Zed was panting as well and decided to retreat instead of fight anymore. He told his summoner to recall, but that was short lived when Pantheon came crashing down and smashed him into the ground ending the shadow ninja.

Diana let out a sigh of relief when she seen that she was able to survive this fight. She wasn't worried about her skills, but Zed was definitely a slippery one.

"I didn't request your help earlier for my opponent. I would rather not be in debt to a dead woman." Pantheon said with an glare.

Diana glared back at him and decided to retort back. "It was to better the team, stop being prideful and think about winning this match!" She yelled back.

"So now you have the guts to stand up to me? Stay in a woman's place, before i make you!" Pantheon screamed.

"Diana drop it please…" Angel butted in, she knew arguing was never going to help her friend situation. Also she didn't want to fight with her peers and throw the match.

"No fuck that Angel, I am sick of this barbarian. He needs to be taught a less-" Diana was cut off as Amumu grabbed her with his bandages. She gasped as she seen that the enemy carry and support came up top. She had let her guard down once again.

Blitzcrank shot his hand out and grabbed Diana. She was rapidly pulled over and she seen Miss Fortune smile as she shot her in the face. They ran down to the baron pit after they knew she was out of commision.

Pantheon came out of the bush after he seen the enemy team left and looked over the fallen mage. He had a smile on his face as he watched the light leave her eyes. He took a knee and rubbed his fingers in her blood.

He looked at his hand and wiped the blood on his spear. He took a second to look at his spear with her blood on it. "Hmm not the same, one day I will bath in her blood." He said as he went to help Rengar and the others stop the enemies from killing baron.

After another 10 minutes, Diana's team was actually able to pull of the win. It was high tension between Pantheon and Diana, but they all somehow won. Twitch was able to poison most of the team and with the help of Rengar taking out their Zed. Diana was able to finish off any escapees.

VICTORY!

Diana and the rest of her team was back at the summoner platform. She was the first one to depart. She did not want to be in that room with Pantheon, and with how Leona was she knew she would be over there to congratulate him.

"Diana! Wait up, don't you want to talk about the game?!" came the voice of Angel as she followed after her friend.

"Leave me be Angel, I don't want to be bothered right now." Diana said in a low voice as she kept walking towards her room.

Angel followed after her angry friend. "Look i know you are angry, but just let it go. Being angry won't-" She didn't get to finish as Diana grabbed her and put her against the wall.

"Look, right now isn't a good time to be the symbol of peace. You are my friend, but i will hurt you if you don't leave me alone NOW!" Diana screamed with a glare. Angel eyes started to water as she seen the look in Diana's eyes. They were glazed over and she knew she was in that hate everything mentality.

Angel shakingly grabbed Diana's hands to remove them from her. This made Diana snap out of her angry thoughts and realize what she was doing.

"Angel… I'm-" she was cut off when she seen Angel's face. Her normal big brown eyes were watery. The tears ruined her make up and made her look like a racoon.

"You need to get rid of this hate, it will only corrupt you more." Angel said as she ran past her friend. Diana sat there dumbfounded as she tried to overcome the shock of what just happened.

"I wish i could sometimes Angel." Diana said in a low voice. She shook her head to try and not brood. She continued her walk to her room, she needed to think.

Somewhere else in the Institute…

Nothing could knocked the grin that was on Rykane face. He has been waiting for the last 6 months for this day. Things would finally be going well for his people.

"Rykane?" came the voice of a man. Rykane stood up and followed the man into the room. He noticed that there was 3 people behind a desk. The one on the left look like a man in his late seventies. The one on the right was a middle aged man with black hair and a stare that seem to pierce a hole right through Rykane. His black eyes didn't help at all and made it even more creepy. The last one in the middle was a blond woman that look to be in her mid to late thirties. She sported a grin that went well with her blue eyes.

"Good Afternoon Rykane. It's nice to have you here." said the woman. "My name is Leah Syzen. I am the grandmaster summoner of the Institute. These two others are my fellow grandmaster summoners Ren (pointing to the black hair man) and Giabu ( pointing to the elder next).

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you. I have been waiting for this day." Rykane said with a big smile.

"I can see that, well let's get on to business now shall we? From what we have on file. The Lunari people still thrives? I thought their customs and lifestyle disappeared over time?" Leah asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I know it's strange for someone to come out of nowhere and say a lost people was never lost. However what i say is the truth. Yes we were lost, but it was at a choice that saved us from actually from being wiped out. We asked a friendly god of ours and she agreed to help us hide from this reality for a certain amount of time.

Ren narrowed his eyes and he thought of which god would do something like this. Gods helping mortals? That's a little strange he thought, but maybe it was him.

"Care to tell us which 'GOD' helped you? Also why would she help your people?" Ren asked Rykane.

Rykane stared at the black haired man and looked at him in disbelief. Did he not think Zoe was one to help? He then thought about it, they don't know much about the Lunari people's care for one another.

"Well Zoe, the Aspect of Twilight. I don't know if you know who that is. She is the one who did this for us. She has the power to change realities, she was once a Lunari mortal until she ascended. She seen our people being attacked by the Solari and Rakkor and knew we wouldn't be able to survive. Zoe thinking as quick as her little mind could, changed the reality and made it seem as though our people never existed. Not until recently was when we finally figured out that the reality was released. Meaning she either forgot about it and it released on its on or she decided it was safe again." Rykane said.

"I see, that is quite an interesting story. To think that the Lunari people was always under our noses. Well are you guys still on Mt. Targon at its peak or…?" Leah trailed off.

"Yeah we are still at the peak. It's a dangerous way down for our people without being taunted by the Solari and Rakkor. That is why i am here." He said solemnly.

"To become a champion in exchange for protection from the other two right?" Giabu stated. When Rykane nodded he was about to add something before Ren spoke up.

"As much as i hate to break it to you, we don't have the ability to protect your people because for a political or personal reason. We can make you a champion however, you can use your championship status and fight in matches that could have political outcomes." There was a recent Ionia vs Noxus one." Ren said.

"I see, well that's unfortunate. I will however though do what it takes to protect my people. Otherwise i couldn't live up to my title." Rykane said with a giant smile.

"That's what i like to hear. So far you have given us wonderful information, now it is time for your judgement." Leah said with a grin. She then gained a serious face and stared at Rykane.

Rykane was taken aback by this and decided to blink. What happened next was something he wished was not something he wish to see ever.

He was back home and noticed that it was extremely warm. He seen that he was at the kitchen table with his parents and younger sister. What frightened him though was their appearance.

All three of them was dressed in what appeared to be old Solari clothing. They also had brown hair and not their normal white hair. They seemed to be judging him as well.

"Mom, dad? What's going on? What happened to you guys." He said with a shaky voice. He noticed that now he was outside in front of the entire Lunari people or what was the Lunari. He was tied to a plank that laid over the mountain top.

"MOM, DAD?! Mysiki what is going on? Why is this happening? What happened to you guys?" He said with teary eyes.

He couldn't move a muscle and felt that he was powerless. This had to be a dream right? No way his people would worship the Sun. It just wasn't possible.

He was brought out of his thoughts when his sister walked up to him. "How does it feel to have your mind exposed?" asked Mysiki.

"Huh?" was what Rykane said before he realized that he was in front of the three summoners again.

"She said how does it feel to have your mind exposed?" said Ren in a annoyed tone. He was over this guy and needed to take a smoke break.

"It definitely felt weird. So this is the power you summoner's use?" Rykane asked. When Leah nodded he smiled. "That is crazy, well i guess i got to get use to it." he smiled.

"I think you will fit in fine around here. Welcome to the League, Rykane, The heart of the Moon." Leah said with a even wider smile. Giabu smiled and Ren scoffed and took his leave.

Later that night with Diana…

Diana POV…

I really screwed up today. I am normally on my A game when i am summoned to the rift. I know my power isn't overwhelming like some mages, but i am definitely no where near average.

I let my emotions get the better of me again and i hurt Angel on top of it. I need to apologise when i see her tomorrow to clear up anything. She is one of my only friends i know i can count on.

I looked at the clock and seen that it was almost midnight. I sighed and looked towards the window. I noticed that the moon was full and it shined a beautiful light that illuminates the night sky.

"What should i do? I am a confused soul and i need your guidance," I say to myself. I say a prayer and get ready to sleep for the night. Maybe tomorrow can be a better day.

With Angel…

Normal POV

Angel was sitting on a park bench while looking at the stars and the moon. Diana had got her into star gazing and appreciating the things like the nightlife.

She sighed when she thought about her fallout with her best friend earlier. She heard footsteps and turned her head quickly to see who would be out at this time.

"Well, i wasn't expecting you to be out this time of night Angel." came the voice of a woman. Angel eyes with wide and she stood up and bowed when the woman stopped next to her.

"G-GRANDMASTER LEAH, IT'S AN HONOR!" Angel stuttered out. She was not expecting the grand summoner to be out here.

"Hey no need to be all formal, i was just taking a stroll. How's it going?" Leah said as she took a seat on the bench. She motioned for Angel to sit down as well and she quickly did.

"I could be better i suppose." Angel said with a low tone. Leah noticed right away something happened between the girl and Diana. She was way too upbeat to be like this.

"You two had a falling out again?" Leah asked hitting the nail on the coffin. Angel nodded her head with a sad smile. Tears started to form in her eyes.

"I feel like i progress a little in breaking that shell, but then something dumb happens and she resorts back to her instincts. It hurts my heart knowing she goes through this. I just want the best for her." Angel said through choked sobs.

Leah sat in silence while she looked towards the moon. She thought carefully about what to say to soothe the young summoner.

"Listen dear, it will be ok. It is tough trying to help one who has been traumatized like Diana, however it can be done. Don't give up on her, and she will always appreciate that. I know that much for sure." She said with a grin and hugged the young girl.

Angel eyes went wide and she returned the hug. Leah was like a mom to her, she was kind hearted and considered everyone her family.

"So what do you think i should do?" Angel asked as she wiped her tears away.

"That's easy, just talk it out over lunch or something. I don't think Diana is one to hold a grudge on one of her close friends." Leah said with a smile.

"Sounds good Ms. Leah, well if you excuse me i got to get ready for bed." Angel said with a renowned hope. Leah laughed at the girl and looked at the stars again

"There will be a new champion reveal tomorrow. I want you and Diana to be in the front. I think this will spice some things up." Leah said

"What do you mean? Is there something we need to see?" Angel said with a confused look on her face.

"Nothing crazy but you will see tomorrow when he is revealed. " Leah said with a smile as she patted Angel on the shoulder.

"Ok then…" Angel replied. She was confused on what the woman meant. She decided not to press on it to much and figure that out tomorrow.

"Well it is really late, you should go ahead and get some sleep." Leah said as she stood up. Angel stood up as well. When she did that her hair was ruffled. "You're an inspiring young summoner. You are doing a wonderful thing and don't give up. She will come along when the time is right." Leah said with a heartwarming smile as she departed.

Angel couldn't do nothing but blush like an idiot for the compliment from the grandmaster. She took a deep breath and let out whatever stress that worried her. She knew tomorrow was going to be a better day for her and Diana.

"Thank you so much for the words of encouragement Ms. Leah" Angel said with a goofy smile.
