The sequel to this is Revolutionary Regrets II. It doesn't really matter which order you read them in though. Even though we can consider this to be in America's point of view, neither poem, technically, can only be interpreted as a US-UK relationship (platonic or otherwise), but they were based off of the two's relationship and the Revolutionary War. They can be interpreted as just two regular people. I figured I would post them anyway, however, under this fandom.
I dedicate these poems to my girlfriend, who is my Iggy!~ ^_^ I promise to always be your Alfie!~ Te amo!~
I was lost,
Then you found me.
You were my 'brother,'
Then my enemy.
I saw you cry,
Down on your knees.
I cried inside,
As you begged, 'Please!'
I love the sky,
You love the sea.
While we're there,
We are free.
You bound my wings,
You locked the cage.
But still I smiled,
And chained the rage.
I broke the binds,
You tried to stop me.
But I fought back,
And now I'm free.
Now oceans of tears,
Keep us apart.
We're still not free,
We've locked our hearts.
