Saving people, hunting things, the family business.

John was driving the impala through a deserted road. The sights where pretty but there were no cars in sight just him, his Mary and their boys. Mary was fiddling with the radio trying to settle in a station and Sam and Dean where in the back seat. Dean had his feet propped in Sam's lap and was soundly sleep, his head resting against the window. Sam was reading some book about alien-like insects that were about to invade the earth for a third time.

"Will you just pick a station?" John smiled at his wife, taking in her sweet smile, her shiny eyes and the way her hair looked in the sunlight.

"Fine" She shrugged with a smile and settled on a country station. Sam could hear her singing softly to the song on the radio. He could also see John smiling at her with love and affection.

Sam was a little nervous because this was his third hunt. Unlike Dean who was like on his thirtieth, John and Mary would let them hunt for the first time when they turned 14. Dean was eighteen and he loved hunting more than their Mom's homemade pie itself. Sam liked hunting but he didn't plan to do it for life, like his parents or Dean. John and Dean weren't happy about it but Mary always smiled and told him to reach for the stars.

"Sam, could you try and wake up your brother? We're almost there." Sam shook Dean when that didn't work he slapped Dean's legs of his lap. He woke up with a groggy look and glared at Sam muttering 'bitch' under his breath to which Sam replied 'jerk'. Mary turned in her seat and sternly asked them to be nice to each other.

John led them to the back of the car so he could hand them their weapon and give them some last minute pointers. Mary and Sam both carried guns while John and Dean had a flamethrower. John walked to the front of the car "Now, Mary: You and Sammy are just going to shoot at the Rugaru distracting it so me and Dean can hit it with the flamethrower." He looked pointedly at Sam and repeated "Just shot at it" Sam nodded and looked at Dean with a nervous smile.

"It's okay, Sammy" Dean patted his shoulder as they walked towards the house. "Nothing's gonna go wrong. We're the Winchester" He ruffled Sam's long hair before following John to the back of the house. The plan was Mary and Sam ambush the creature in the kitchen then John and Dean break through the back and kill it. Mary smiled with her hand on the door knob "Come on, Sammy"

She opened the door and they both ran quietly to the kitchen where they found the Rugaru chewing his wife. It made at attempted to rush to them but Sam and Mary quickly shot at it as John broke through the kitchen door with Dean following him.

"Sammy, Mary, duck!" John yelled before he and Dean started blasting the rugaru with the flamethrowers. Mary and Sam where ducked beside the kitchen counter, Sam had his arms around her protectively as they listened to the Rugaru scream in agony. Sam poked his head over the counter as the Rugaru, or what it is to be a Rugaru, fell to the floor with the smell of burnt turkey in the oven.

They were all staring at was used to be a human before it turned into a flesh eating beast and chewed his whole family to the bone. They all had looks of disgust and nausea when Dean piped up "Who's up for some pie?"

John pushed him out the back door laughing while Mary followed them as she linked her arm around Sam's waist and laughed along with him and John.
