Okay, I wanted to try and write something but English isn't my first language so this is probably going to be pretty shitty. So don't judge too much or something?
Ancient Greece
It was almost a midnight when somewhere on a lonely island was a woman giving birth to her firstborn. The woman's lover was a man named Poseidon. Yes, THE Greek God of the Sea. The woman hoped to give birth to a son because no girl was a hero, girls were believed to be weak and useless.
So when the clock hit the midnight the woman finally gave birth to a daughter. She was disappointed in the baby and started to hate her own daughter. But she kept her daughter. After that she started to call her names and even hit her. So when the daughter finally turned one, she run and left her in the woods with only her name. But what nobody knew about her is that the girl was born with eidetic memory and full awarness of her surroundings. That's how the story of Selene Calliopeia Alanis, the first daughter of Poseidon started.
Selene POV (9 years old)
During those years in the woods Selene was raised by wolfs and some other animals. She had found a horse like creature (what she later found out was pegasus) who told her all about the Greek Gods. Selene of course thanks to her eidetic memory, remembered when her mother had cursed her and cried how Poseidon would be so disappointed so she knew who her father was. (plus she knew that she could breath underwater so it wasn't hard to guess)
Selene had learned to fight with knives and with bow and arrows. So when the monsters started coming to her, she was able to fight them with none to little struggle. Selene was proud to be a girl and didn't get how her own mother could be so cruel when even the animals where loving mothers to their own 'pups' like the pegasus (whos name was Atlea) told her. So during all those years she wanted to prove that even girls could be heroes and warriors. And that was what she did.
Artemis POV (1 year later)
I had heard that monster avoided a specific part of the woods near Athens so me and my hunters went to search what was in there. We travelled for days until we finally arrived near the area where was mostly only animals and no single monster. We searched until I heard some leaves rustle in a tree near us. I ordered others to stop and went to look.
Selene POV
I heard something coming so I hid in the trees. What I saw was something I didn't expect. A group of girls, some of my age and some older. There was one who just felt so powerful that I wanted to bow to her. During my thinking I didn't realise that I shook some of the leaves pretty loudly and then the powerful one froze and whispered something to the others and came on my way. I pulled my bow so quiet as I could and pointed it on the girl. She looked up to me and then froze for a moment and then slowly pulled her hands up and spoke.
Artemis POV
I slowly walked up to the tree and what I saw made me freeze for a moment. There was a little girl maybe 10-12 years old who had a bow pointed at me. She looked wild like she had animals furs around her like clothes. She had long black hair and big sea green eyes. She was maybe 5'3 tall and had this athlete type but petite figure. I figured that we had scared her so I slowly lifted my hands so she wouldn't feel threatened and then I spoke slowly "Hello. My name is Artemis. Can you tell me your name?" I asked. The girl eyed me for a moment and asked quietly "Like the goddess Artemis?". I was shocked that she even knew about us because she looked like she hasn't set a foot outside of the woods. "No, not like. I am the goddess" I answered. She then froze for a moment and then quietly started climbing down the tree.
Selene POV
I froze. In front of me was THE goddess Artemis, goddess of the moon and hunt. Then I started climbing down the tree slowly and then jumped down to the ground. When I had straightened everything I bowed down and weakly said "Pleasure to meet you, my lady".
Artemis POV
I was shocked. How little girl like this could be more respectful than some adults. Then answered "No need to bow little one. Can I know your name?" I asked. She then stood up eyes wide with awe and bit nervousness. "Selene, Selene Calliopeia Alanis my lady" she answered. "Pretty name you have there. Where is your parents?" I asked. I saw her eyes hardened and changed color to stormy like waves in the sea. I was shocked because this reminded me of my uncle Poseidon's eyes. Then I looked at her more throughly and saw her aura. She was powerful demigod, maybe she was Poseidon's child but he has never had a demigod daughter. The girl, Selene then drew me out of my thoughts when she answered "My mother was the one that left me here and I have never met my father." I was angry and shocked. Her own mother left here on her own? I then asked her and was shocked about the answer. She remembered everything after she was born and her mother hated her because she was a girl. When she was finished I was fuming. How could anyone treat a maiden, even more a baby like that?! Then I hugged her. I felt her stiffen for a moment and then she hugged me back so tightly that I was shocked about her strenght.
I took her to the other in our camp and introduced everyone. I then took her to my tent and asked her "Would you like to join the hunt? We already know you are a demigod and there is a camp for likes of you but in a hunt you would get a new family." Selene looked up to me with misty eyes and asked "A family? I could get a new family?" My heart started to ache for the little girl. "Yes the hunt is a family for girls who are treated wrongly or wanted to find a new purpose." I answered "But if you join us you would have to swear off men and you get partial immortality which means that you can only die in a battle so you stay the same age if or until you die." I continued.
Selene POV
Without boys and partial immortality with new family! I was so happy. "I have always hated how boys always were treated better and I hate them so I wanted to prove that a girl can be a hero and a warrior so YES! Yes I want to join!" I practically screamed in joy.
Lady Artemis looked like she could join my happy fest and I saw motherly pride in her eyes which warmed my broken heart so it almost seemed like whole.
"Okay repeat after me. "I, your name..." Lady Artemis started. "I, Selene Calliopeia Alanis..." I repeated. "Pledge myself to the goddess Artemis..." "Pledge myself to the goddess Artemis," I repeated. "I turn my back on the company of men, accept eternal maidenhood and join the hunt." "I turn my back on the company of men, accept eternal maidenhood and join the hunt." I finished. Lady Artemis smiled at me and finished the oath "I accept."
There was this silver light surrounding me and I could feel my years of not eating enough starting to heal and when the glowing stopped I felt more powerful and more in peace than I have ever felt. A big smile broke into my face and I started to jump little around and danced for a moment.
Artemis POV
I watched Selene jump and dance around the tent with a fond smile. She was so kind and happy and I could feel the motherly instinct in me swell up in happiness. After a moment I asked "Want to spend time with your new sisters?". She looked at me eyes big with happiness and gratitude and then she nodded so quicky that I wondered how she didn't get dizzy. We then walked out of the tent and all the other surrounded Selene and started hugging and laughing. Some started to rant "We got a new sister!" and I was so happy that my hunt got all these girls a new family.
Selene POV (10 months later)
I had fast gotten a reputation with my skills in the hunt and everyone loved me as much as I loved them. There was Lady Artemis lieutnant named Priscilla who was nice and was others big sister figure. We hunted all over Greece and for a while we went to some other countries as well but Greece had the best woods and was favourite to all. Everyone was sure I was daughter of Poseidon and then I started to have abilities with water. I could move it and even shape spears and knives in it and even use it as a weapon. It broke after one kill but it was usefull skill. I could also heal with water and talk to all kinds of sea creatures. There was one important rule in the hunt which is never broke your hunters oath. It was perfect and I could never regret my choice. It was like I was meant to join.
Until one day when we were eating there was fast footsteps coming in our way. Everyone stood up and took a weapon in hand. Then the footsteps got closer and a girl came from the woods. It was Priscilla. She looked ruffled and everyone was confused why. Until we heard more footsteps and a boy came from the same direction. Everyone pointed our weapons at him and waited for him to do something. He run up to Priscilla and hugged her. Everyone let gasps of suprise and then started muttering. Until Lady Artemis came from her tent and watched the scene with confusion and betrayal. She then spoke up "What is this Priscilla? Why did you bring a boy to our camp? I will punish him." What happened next started all of us. Priscilla started to defend the boy and started crying. Lady Artemis then started "There is only one rule amongst the hunt and you have broken it Priscilla. You have broken your oath to me. You have broken my trust and now there must be consequenses." She then turned both of them into lizards, who then ran into the woods.
Silence was long and with full of betrayal. My sisters started to muttering until Lady Artemis ordered us to pack the camp. "Selene come" Lady Artemis said and I walked up to her when others started to pack up. "My Lady" I bowed my head in respect. "I need a new lieutnant and I think you would be a good choice Selene." Lady Artemis said. I was shocked. A lieutnant? Me? My brain started a war inside until I hear Lady Artemis continue. "You have leadership skills Selene. Others respect you and you have proven your loyalty to me from time after time. You are my choice. Do you accept it?" she asked. "Yes my lady. It would be an honour." I answered. She smiled at me and said "I'm glad Selene, I trust you."
2 months later
Time had gone so fast when we hunted a Nemean Lion all over the Greece. My sisters were happy to have me to their lieutnant and I couldn't be happier to be accepted so easily. One day Lady Artemis came to me and asked if I wanted to come with her to the summer solitice meating in Olympus. I was happy that I could finally see the great Olympus and acceped it.
So when I woke up next day we hunted for food as usual and then talked and trained until it was time. I baithed and put on new clean clothes and climbed to Lady Artemis' chariot and we started our journey to Olympus.
