An Afterlife Reborn
Chapter 1: The End of a Dying Life.

He couldn't move.
He couldn't bloody move.
His three rivals before his dark, almost extinct, eyes. The light of their bodies, the so much alive souls lurking behind each one´s pupils. He hated it, he loathed them.
He was begining to feel numb, his unanswering muscles sore with exhaustion, heavy and slowly falling into the same darkness which had kept him alive for so long, the one which was consuming him into oblivion.
He, Mephiles the Dark, was scared, so damned scared. He feared his future, a history he had twisted so many times. He didn't know what awaited him in his afterlife, even if he did have one.
Although he had messed with time in uncountable opportunities, he plainly didn't know what was going to happen to him. A being that was never to be born in this world, to exist among the living on this plane of the universe. He was a spirit, he was part of something that was never meant to be played with, he was a wild and unpredictable nature force.
He saw bright red eyes fixed into his monstrous form, the one which was slowly fading into nothing more than a fragile and cold core.
Mephiles tried to laugh, but he had no voice, just the power of freeing his emotions, letting them switch and penetrate the hearts of his enemies. He saw them flinch, he found it amusing even though he was slowly being torn apart in a tortuous and painful way.
He saw the hand of one of them quietly trying to reach his almost dissapeared form, trying to enforce his will, to justify the pain he was feeling coming from the almost vanished being.
Mephiles was almost gone.
And his eyes, those dying and poisonous green eyes, were the last thing they saw of him.

A/N
I'm re-writing an old story... my first one in English and in the Sonic-Universe... who am I kidding, I only care about Mephiles and Iblis.
The old story was deleted. This one is kind of an alternative story-line, telling us what happens with Mephy after this scene takes place, when he's "destroyed" by Shadow, Sonic and Silver.
