I May Never Say It

Oneshot

There was nothing there, there was nothing here, nothing was everywhere. The whole world, completely ruined, left in a pile of ashes, ruled by a red, bleeding sky.

Why didn't he at least listen?

It was Zim's fault! Wasn't it? Dib was sure it was! It had to be- who else could have done this?

A shadowed figure stood on the horizon of a giant, dying sun, his pitch black, scythe-like hair drooping ever so slightly, "...How could this happen?" He asked himself; he had promised to save the planet but yet...what happened...this was such a catastrophe.

Buildings collapsed, people ran around, screaming and begging their non existent gods for mercy, hoping some greater being would save them. Cars were left abandoned in the roads, slabs of rock came up from beneath the earth, massive earthquakes shook the land, tsunamis engulfed coastal regions. Every horrendous thing that could possibly happen, happened.

Why...didn't he listen to him?

The pitiful sight of humans absolutely depressed him, he was very sure he was the only one left on this planet of destruction and chaos, this completely ravaged country of now nothingness. This whole scenario could have all been avoided at once...no- no it couldn't have! This...this was bound to happen sooner or later.

He should have never, ever trusted that damn alien...he should have never...

Dib clutched his head, closing his eyes and gently falling to his knees on the rubble floor beneath him, "...I should have listened..." He whispered so lightly, that if the world wasn't so isolated and empty, nobody would have heard it, but now, you could hear the suns rays screaming in agony as they swept closer, engulfing it's planet children.

"Zim told me...he told me this would have happened..." He sobbed, covering his face; ashamed of himself.

Why was he so stupid?

Dib cried loudly, a hand going down to his neck, unzipping his jacket, and revealing a strange necklace, which he then grasped in his hands and tightly prayed to, "...Zim..." He whispered, holding the magenta rock in his hands, "...I'm...I'm such a fool." He stated, looking up into the sky.

His eyes did not widen, nor show any kind of emotion at all, instead staring up at the flaming sky, and a quickly approaching, gargantuan meteor about to strike the earth, "I wished I..."

And the meteor hit the planet, up close, it was nothing but a blink of an eye and he was dead, but far away, out in space, you could clearly see everything.

The enormous piece of rock slammed into the tiny blue planet...completely engorging it in flames, before it shattered to millions of parted pieces. This whole scene, could almost be played over and over again, in a certain alien's eyes, looking from above the scorching mess of death to such an early planet.

Zim gulped, and took a breath.

I told him it would happen.

"...I'm so sorry I could do nothing to stop it...Dib." He muttered sadly, listening in on the only human's last words.

"I wished I...hadn't fallen for that stupid alien."

The aforementioned alien blinked, eyes unintentionally watering, "...I wished the same, Dib." Zim muttered meekly, wanting to go back in time and forced the damn stubborn human to come with him.

But he just wouldn't budge.
