The Love That Kills

Yuna's hands were shaking slightly. The people's cheers were deafening.
Don't cry now, she told herself. Not in front of everybody.
She could hear a boy in the crowd start to whistle, like Tidus had showed her. The lump in her throat grew bigger. She turned away quickly.

"Are you alright Yuna?" Lulu asked.
She forced a smile and nodded. "I just need to. . . go for a second," she whsipered. She rushed from the staduim quickly. Outside the streets were deserted. She burst into tears instantly. Even after that speech she just made she couldn't let him go. HE had only left her a few days ago. Why did it already feel like a lifetime.
When she had calmed down she slowly made her way back into the stadium. She knew she had to be here, and seem strong. "Strength shows courage," she muttered under her breath. Right. She was the one who helped defeat Sin. If she were to cry right now it wouldn't show weakness. Just pain. Slumping against her chair she tried to concentrate on the game.
It was his favorite, she thought sadly. He loved to play this. She fought the urge to hug her knees to her chest and bury her face in her them. After a few more minutes she gave up. She rose and told the others she was going for a walk. She wandered around the empty town searching for a place to be. She finally ended by the docks where he uncle Cid had kidnapped her. Tidua had come for her here. She sat down on the dock and left her feet hang off the side. The ocean waves splashed softly against the shore. She closed her eyes and felt the breeze blow gently against her and she tried to imagine for a second that he was with her. When she opened her eyes again there were tears streaming for them.
She got up again and began to walk to Rin's. They were staying there for the night until they could return to Besaid. When she got there, it too was deserted. Thankfully. She really didn't want to talk to anyone right now. She went to her room and began to go through her things. She stopped when she found Tidus's sword the Wakka had given him. She walked outside and sat down by the cliff where she had told him about the Pilgrimage. Everything except how it would end.
Another tear fell from her eye and landed on the Brotherhood. She rose the sword and held it aganist her for a moment before holding it to her wrist and letting the flesh slice apart. The blood started to leak form her arms. She curled into a ball.
"I love you Tidus," she whispered. Then closing her eyes she let her soul leave her body and join the spirits that haunted her.
