Above- in the heavens, thunder boomed, the sound making the depressing aura of this place seemed worse than normal.

It had been raining when the last names died.

Only yesterday, the names of three shinobi were added to the memorial stone sitting in the clearing. Three, young shinobi- each only 10.

No one deserved that fate, did they? Sure- the man thought- he did. Yet no one else should face this sort of judgment.

Another boom of thunder rolled across the heavens- shaking through a few stray tears.

And I never cry.

What a load of garbage.

The man cried for who he wished to cry for.

…Obito…

…Rin…

Both of whom were killed by his own actions.

That was why the man let himself cry.

If there was such a thing as a judgment day- the man wished for it to come. He could not live this life for much longer- still in the knowledge that while he took a breath- his two closest friends- the ones he called family, were lost to the shadows for all eternity.

Some mornings- this lust would arrive stronger than the day before, and he would find himself in front of the mirror- kunai knife poised to his neck- waiting for the end to come.

Yet so far- he had failed to meet his fate.

The cursed hand he had been dealt had put too larger distraction in his path this time- and he could not end his pathetic life without being hated.

He was a sensei now- he had a duty to, not just his village, but to his students as well. He had to train them before he reached the door which would only open once- otherwise- he would only be the destruction of three more young lives- even more blood would stain his hands.

CRAWW.

A messenger bird. A call for lessons to begin.

The rain continued to fall- slowly, gently- the clouds above crying at the village's loss.

Lessons could wait.

Then out of nowhere- a single bead of rain dropped from the man's nose, and he felt a single thought flash through his grieving mind.

Why is the rain like the fate of humanity?

And deep inside- the man felt he knew the reason better than most.

He was a bachelor- he lived his own life- observing others, and he saw things which many a person would not notice about their selves.

All of humanity fell from a greater place- weather that be heaven or hell- directly onto Earth.

The rain falls from the sky- while I fell from hell…

In times of trouble- humans like to come together for support.

The rain moves into the dips in the ground- everyone came together for the third- yet I stay away most of the time- my comfort being that one day I will die…

Humans will one day all die.

The rain will evaporate with the sun- and I cannot wait till my turn…

Under his mask- the man smiled and turned his face up at the clearing skies.

Every trouble is one day forgotten- and a new light appears- guiding the way.

He opened his mouth,

"Rin, Obito, you are my light. I'll live this life for all three of us…" he whispered, muttering a silent prayer as he did so- hoping- praying that the two could hear his voice.

For the first time since he lost everyone he cared about- the man turned away from the memorial stone still smiling. He had a job to do- he had three kids to train- and in them- the spirits of Rin and Obito lived on.

He instantly moved at speed towards squad 7's meeting place- stopping suddenly as he reached there.

He looked down on his three students-and he smiled. One final point stepped onto his swirling mind, as the sun shone down upon his back.

And like the rain- my friends have moved to a better place- and one day- just maybe one day, they will fall back to Earth again- just like a phoenix rising from the ashes. When that day comes- I will be waiting here to meet you…

WHAT DO YOU THINK? I randomly came up with this and decided to put it up.
