Summary:
"The first time we met, you were chasing me. The first time we spoke, you called me a sociopath."
"Well it was at your trial and I'm not totally sure I was wrong."
"The first time we had dinner, you asked me what I wanted from you. And the first time we kissed, I realised that I didn't want anything except you. And now I'm asking if you will go on one more adventure with me. Sara Ellis will you marry me?"
"You bastard. That was a little too real, but it was damn good."
"Make it look good, that's my job."
He let her walk away and now he has to face the consequences.
In that moment, we both knew that as soon as I walked down that isle, I belonged to another man. That I could no longer be his girl and that he could no longer be my man.
"Please?" He whispers as we cling to each other, holding on to each other for dear life, as though it would stop our hearts from breaking. I nod, giving him the permission we both need to share our last night together.
The next morning I wake up to the sun streaming through the windows, mocking me, telling me this should be the happiest day of my life. I crawl out of his arms and put on my wedding dress. He watches me from the bed we shared as I paint on the mask I will wear for the rest of my life, his eyes silently begging me not to go.
He drives me to the church, waits with me until it is time to walk down the aisle, torturing us both as we take those precious extra minutes we can together.
"Goodbye," I whisper as the wedding march starts to play.
