Chapter One

The Doctor pulled the crested door knocker of 221B four times before a shuffling finally approached the door.

"Coming!" A deeper voice hollered.

"This isn't over," muttered the same voice quietly.

After a few seconds, a glossy blue eye regarded him through the peephole. The Doctor smiled endearingly and waved.

John Watson opened the door with slight reluctance.

"Hello."

"Hi." The Doctor's grin widened. He examined the odd mixture of brown and blue in the man's eyes, "Central Heterochromia, how fascinating!"

John furrowed his brow, "Can I help you?"

"I-yes. Yes. Umm, I'm looking for Sherlock Holmes."

The Doctor mentally grimaced. He prepared himself for a great deal of ridicule.

John pursed his lips, "Client?"

"What? N-no, just a..colleague." The Doctor wondered if the man was being derisive of him.

John nodded slightly and beckoned inside, "I'll fetch him for you."

The Doctor let out an excited laugh. He'd been correct! John looked at him in bemusement.

As The Doctor marveled, a question occurred to him. If this was in fact the legendary Sherlock Holmes' residence, then who was standing before him? The Doctor's mind worked furiously as he struggled to remember the characters of Doyle's work. The man definitely did not seem like his tenant or anything of the sort..but he'd answered the door?

"Oh!" The Doctor yelped as it struck him. "Dr. John Watson!" He offered his hand enthusiastically. "You are brilliant! Excellent to meet you, sir!" He continued to smile widely.

John stopped in his track and took on a more pleasant resolve. "You too." He shook the man's hand and basked in the high acknowledgement.

"You read the blog, then?"

"Blog?" The Doctor hesitated. "Oh, yes, the blog! Yeah, of course I do!"

John smiled. "I'll get Sherlock."

The Doctor nodded gratefully. "Thanks!"

John left the door ajar and The Doctor observed him as he approached the staircase.

"Sherlock!" He yelled.

"What now, John?" An exasperated voice yelled back.

"You have a visitor!"

"I'm busy!"

"You've been sitting on your arse all morning!"

The Doctor's eyes widened. Modern day Holmes and Watson seemed to be a huge change from their Victorian selves, to say the least.

"I'm inviting him up!"

"Then come make tea!"

John growled in aggravation and turned his attention back to The Doctor.

"I apologize. He's an insufferable prick."

The Doctor nodded. He referred back to Doyle's Holmes, and his disagreeable personality, "It's fine."

"Come on up. I'll make you tea."

A/N: So, there it is. That was a bit quick. Don't worry, backstory and setting explanation will be supplied next chapter. I hope. I honestly don't know where I'm heading with this, or if I even want to make it a full length story. Feedback is strongly appreciated. Please leave a review of your thoughts and opinion on whether or not I should continue. Thanks in advance.
